New Beginnings Assembly of God 01.07.2021

Some people have been so disappointed, either by the father they had or the father they didn't have, they've just let their hurt turn hard so that they don't get hurt anymore. Others have become desperate, trying all kinds of relationships and experiences to fill the hole that only a father can fill, and they've ended up with scars and regrets and still no father. See, there's that special kind of loneliness, of emptiness, of loss when you've been waiting a long time at the door for that father who's never come. The father you need most, though, has come, and He's coming your direction this very day.

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. The Civil War, which ended in the spring of 1865, claimed more lives than any conflict in U.S. history and required the establishment of the country’s first national cemeteries.... By the late 1860s, Americans in various towns and cities had begun holding springtime tributes to these countless fallen soldiers, decorating their graves with flowers and reciting prayers. It is unclear where exactly this tradition originated; numerous different communities may have independently initiated the memorial gatherings. And some records show that one of the earliest Memorial Day commemorations was organized by a group of formerly enslaved people in Charleston, South Carolina less than a month after the Confederacy surrendered in 1865. Nevertheless, in 1966 the federal government declared Waterloo, New York, the official birthplace of Memorial Day. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Did you know? Each year on Memorial Day a national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.

Sacrifice is the theme of Memorial Day. The sacrifice of individuals. The sacrifice of families. The sacrifice of communities. The sacrifice of a nation. Memorial Day is a time when America is reminded of the ultimate price so many brave men and women have paid for our freedom. John Quincy Adams once said, "You will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you make good use of it." May God continue to bless America on behalf of those who gave their lives for her. Please take time with family and friends over this Memorial Day weekend to reflect on the cost of freedom and our responsibility to defend it. #MemorialDay https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lbiaN54hn-U

Good Morning Friends... I hope y'all have a safe and blessed Friday!" Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.- Psalm 25:5... Lord, Thank you for this day. I ask that You would guide my path today and, more specifically, my thoughts, words and actions. Please protect and keep safe all my loved ones today, and be with me throughout the day and help me navigate whatever comes my way. Most importantly, help me to reflect and live out my life in a way that is honoring to you. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen. Spirit, Keep Me Vulnerable O Spirit within me be my guide through all that is dark and doubtful... Be my guard against all that threatens my honesty Be my strength under pressure and my consolation in sadness Be my joy in celebration and my comfort in disappointment... Let not success make me arrogant but rather grateful Let not failure make me fearful but rather wiser Let not pain or malice embitter me but enlarge my capacity to endure and to overcome Keep me vulnerable to others and so to You! We don't worship to say that everything in our lives is perfect. We're not worshiping to say that everything in our lives is pain free. We're not even saying that, in our eyes, everything is working out. When we worship we come to say no matter what we see or no matter what the circumstance is, there is a Cross and an empty tomb in our story. And because of that, we know that God is good and we can choose to praise Him. Praise Him in the middle of the storm. Praise Him on t...he mountaintop or the valley low. Praise Him in the best and praise Him in the worst. Praise Him with the weapon of worship. In the middle of it all today we can say, "God I can't see it, but I'm going to believe it. I'm going to speak it out. I'm going to honor You. I'm going to bless You. I'm going to praise You because You've already done enough for me to know that You are good. I believe that You're gonna be there and You won't let me down." Lord, we thank You today that this is our story. If someone doesn't know that story I pray today would be the day that they find an on-ramp to the story of Your faithfulness. We're not trying to hype it up; the empty tomb needs no hype. But we're also here to be real and we want to welcome people into the place where they can be honest about what's broken, disappointing and frustrating in their world. Thank you, Lord that as we come to You people are bringing both wins and losses today. But in both the wins and losses we are here to take a step of faith and say that we believe You are good. Thank you, Lord. I can't take up the sword of faith for anyone's story today, so I want to encourage anyone reading this to take that step of faith today. Say it. Speak it. Believe it. Situations may not change before today ends, but YOU can change today. Lord, You're in it with us. You're gonna be right there with us the whole way through. You're with us right now in the day and in the night. In the joy and in the sorrow. In the laughter and the pain. In

MARRIAGE MATTERS! Over the past year, people have spent more time than ever at home. Spouses had to find new ways to balance home and work life, parents became teachers, and date nights out were a thing of the past. For many, that high stress and uncertainty caused a serious strain on relationships. It's time to refocus on true intimacy and hope. There are thousands of couples who have come before you seeking guidance, and many more are in the same boat as you from this past year. By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. I John 3:16 NKJV

He is the Vine We are the Branches Jesus: I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard. My Father examines every branch in Me and cuts away those who do not bear fruit. He leaves those bearing fruit and carefully prunes them so that they will bear more fruit; already you are clean because you have heard My voice. Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. A branch cannot bear fruit if it is disconnected from the vine, and neither will you if you are not connect...ed to Me. I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you abide in Me and I in you, you will bear great fruit. Without Me, you will accomplish nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is like a branch that is tossed out and shrivels up and is later gathered to be tossed into the fire to burn. If you abide in Me and My voice abides in you, anything you ask will come to pass for you. Your abundant growth and your faithfulness as My followers will bring glory to the Father.~John 15:1-8 See more

No matter what comes our way, our hearts can be settled to trust and love God. And I know how incredibly hard this can be, sweet friend. But this kind of total surrender will bring about a depth of peace and relationship with God we can’t get any other way. It all stems from living out Deuteronomy 6:5, loving God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."... Nothing in life is certain. Circumstances roll in and out like the ocean’s tide. And the unknown can sometimes seem so frightening. We can’t stop or control things that roll our way any more than we can stop the water’s edge. But we can make the minute-by-minute choice to let our souls rest in God. And today, I pray we’ll remember that we don't have to understand; we just have to trust. Here is a prayer of surrender we can lift up tonight... Dear Lord, I want to love You with all my heart, all my soul and all my strength like Your Word instructs. Teach me how to give up the control I try to maintain as I experience uncertainties and hard times. Help me trust You, no matter what comes my way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Father, meet me in the waiting, the place where I long for what is not fully in view. Still my heart and give me the ability to know that You are near. I believe Your plans are good. I see it in the birth of Your only Son. But sometimes I struggle to see beyond the haze that surrounds me. Renew my confidence as I lift my eyes to You. Be glorified in my life during this season of expectation. Amen. - ... We are all waiting on something or someone, often wondering if God has forgotten us. Is that where you are today? In your waiting let the birth of Christ encourage you. Allow our gaze to be fixed on the hope of Christmas - remembering God always comes through on His promise.
