Leaving is so hard but I'm so excited to see my Sheepie Sister, Lori!!

Called in the sheep for evening grain (really it's a bribe to come in the dry clean Barn and lot at night) BUT the lambs decided that they were independent enough to continue to play outside the barn without their mothers. They don't want the grain as much as the gluttonous adults do, so they didn't have much motivation to go in! So as I jogged ( leisurely - yeah right ) around the barn chasing rambunctious, defiant lambs, I contimplated my life choices that led me to ch...asing 34 lambs around & around the barn. I think I could use a sheep dog!! Don't the lambs look great?! I'm super excited to see then mature.

Sawyer and I rented a mini skid steer ride behind and cleaned the barn out yesterday in 4 1/2 hours! After some novice mistakes because we've never drove one before we figured out how to use it. It is way better than taking almost two weeks to clean it by hand every evening after work! Work smarter not harder I'm so proud of my Son! I told him how he used to sneak off and try to hide when it came to hard work, now he sticks around and finishes the job and he's so helpful! He's maturing so nicely he even got paid a little Happy Days at Nature Lane Fiber! The sheep can go back in the barn at night safe from any and all predators!

Letting the Sheep out of the barn this morning. I love that they had a clean place to sleep last night where they were safe from all predators!! I have been stressed the last few days that I've left them out of night! In fact we lost Hawaii Libby's triplet black ewe lamb, the first night I left them out.... After some examinations I believe she was stepped on and it busted her bladder. It was so sad I felt bad that I couldn't help her. I'm glad she's not hurting now though rest in peace Hawaii I will never forget you beautiful girl!!

Sweet Maybelle (Cvm) got her fist shearing yesterday. She wasn't very happy, but I feel for her because I know the rain felt weird on her skin after all these months of having fleece to block it. UPDATE on the twins Rhode Island & New Jersey. They are now up to 5lbs and doing very good! Our sweet friend Jama from Southard Long Wools are going to take them home to her farm very soon!
