End of season clean up crew!
These are the Smidgerines, Midge and Smidge, they're a couple of the special needs ducks that live on the farm. They decided it was such a cold crappy day outside, that they wanted to come in for a warm soak in the cuzi.
The winter greenhouse garden is coming along quite nicely.
The compost crew.
This is rather interesting. Those small/normal radishes were grown in a new lot, that I tilled this year. The HUGE ones, were grown in my long standing no-till lot. The huge ones were actually planted later as well. DPP can for size reference. The no-till lot grows everything huge. I had pepper plants in there that were supposed to top out around 2.5/3 feet, they ended up being over 7 feet tall. I pulled carrots out of there that were over a pound a piece.
It's all up to the weather now. This may, or may not be, the last restaurant delivery of the season.
Chickens are going to lose there minds next week when they get the pepper patch back!
This is my winter garden, in the greenhouse/high tunnel. Hoping to have fresh greens and onions all season. I did it last just using containers and had enough for probably three or four families.
Another season packed up and headed to storage, till January.
These chocolate 7 pot peppers were over 5ft tall before giving up ripe peppers! These things average over 1 million scovilles. My understanding is, that if you eat one raw, actual fire will shoot out of your anus!
Fresh Box deliveries are probably done for the season. But I still have plenty of peppers, and mixed tomato options. Most of the tomatoes will be cherry and smaller heirlooms. Hot pepper mixes include, red/green/yellow jalapeno, poblano, and red/green thai chili. I don't know if the chocolate 7 pots will even ripen in time. I also have poblano/chili hybrid that is pretty smokin hot! The sweet pepper mix includes, ajvarsky, snackers, mini bells, red/yellow banana and green/red spanish mammoth. I think we have carrots currently ready as well. Carrots actually get better tasting in cool weather. Will probably have beans again next week. Most items are limited in quantity and sold as a variety pack. I don't have a stand location, but can meet locally.
Another order headed out the door.
Getting ready to put the fall plants in the ground.
