This last Sunday was a joy. For the first time in several months I was able to attend church. I have not been handling this new Chemo well at all but, the good news is,the cancer markers are down and all the tumors are shrinking. To see my church families after what has seemed such a long time made me so happy. Everyone was keeping social distancing in mind and showed their concern for others by wearing masks. We even had visitors whose church has not resumed services as of yet. I am returning to Houston to MDANDERSON this next weekend for further testing, and am sorry to have to miss this Sunday. So God Bless all who have sent cards, called, and kept us in your prayers, John and I appreciate everyone of you.

At the recommendation of Bishop Robert Farr, church services are cancelled until at least April 19th. All of us are looking forward to when our church family can gather together again, but it is imperative that each of us do our part to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe from COVID-19 which will ultimately put us on the winning side of this pandemic. For a lot of us, concern and worry about the spread of this virus is occupying a large portion of our conscious and subconcious minds -- and that is compounded by the disruption to our normal activities. During these uncertain times remember that our strength lies in our faith and love for one another.

July is fastly coming, and along with it comes one of our favorite church activities......... I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM! Especially when it is home made ice cream, served with home made pies and cobblers, maybe chocolate brownies or cookies. We never know for sure what is going to come from the kitchens of our ladies. And yes, there are more flavors than just Vanilla!... This year THE ICE CREAM SOCIAL will be held on the 20th of July. Come one, come all. Bring your family, bring friends, invite neighbors, all are welcome.
