Congratulations to Emily Beahm, Anna Bruno, Michaela Quinones and Michael Vancardo (not pictured) for winning the Spring 2021 Troutbusters competition. The Troutbusters Conservation Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students interested in the conservation of aquatic wildlife. Troutbusters is a non-profit organization that promotes flyfishing as a tool for recovery from medical trauma. They commonly focus their efforts on returning veterans and cancer survivors. Well done Miners!!

A recently described species of ant has been named for our very own Theo Sumnicht. In his prior position at the University of Utah, he was responsible for the identification of a suite of new species of ants, so this is a well deserved honor. Photo attached of the ant-- Syscia sumnichti.
