Sorry for sideways video. . but it's too fun not to share. 8 first grade classrooms collected 108 boxes of cereal boxes for the Affton Food Pantry! Thanks so much for helping our community!

Taylor (and her BopBop), started their Friday morning off great by practicing her reading, in her PJs, of course! It makes my teacher heart happy when my kiddos are excited to show what they know at home!

It was supposed to be Pajama and Popcorn day. . but it turned in to SO much more! Every few moments, we realized we had ANOTHER P word. So MANY words/things/activities, that we had to make a list of them. We had little Penguin Puzzlers that we played with during "fidget with it Friday", wore our pajamas down to the gym to celebrate our Day of Service Cereal Box collection for the Affton Food Pantry (watch for the video), came back to write the Procedure for our science exp...eriment, where we wrote specific words, like Put and Pour. We had fun on the Playground at recess, went to P.E., ate Puffed corn for a snack and Papa John's Pizza for lunch, read with Partners and Practiced our snap words in Phonics! Those P words just kept coming!! I wish you could have seen the student's eyes light up every time we realized there was another thing we were doing with the letter P. It was a lot of fun:) See more

We had a GREAT 1st Google meet of the year (EVERYONE was there), reviewing our home & school resolutions/goals & we played a Fact/Opinion activity with the popular Among Us theme. At our 2nd meet, we showed off our collections that we'll be using in writing. (Be sure to bring those collections of 5 similar items, in a gallon sized bag, to school each day this week.) Here is our newsletter for the week, as well. We're off to a great start!!

Give a Shout! Give a Cheer! We've started off STRONG this "NEW" year! We made a few resolutions, read a book and learned about the job of the president from BrainPop Jr., learned a new math game, made our own fun in section 4 of the playground & made a pretty cool pet carrier in art (all pictured). . along with learning about facts & opinions, working with the number line, learning how to get Super Smart from reading non-fiction texts & starting a new PLTW unit on Light & Sound. Your children continue to amaze me EVERYday! Thank you for them!!

Photo Dump time! Sorry for the delayed post. . . but quite a bit of learning happened "last year" in December Snap words, 3D shapes, Non-fiction Authors, Creative kiddos. . SO much to celebrate!
