May is Healthy Vision Month! During Healthy Vision Month the National Eye Institute encourages Americans to make their eye health a priority and informs them about steps they can take to protect their vision: 1. Get a comprehensive dilated eye exam.... 2. Live a healthy lifestyle, including eating healthy foods, maintaining a healthy weight, managing chronic conditions, and not smoking. 3. Know your family history. 4. Use protective eye wear. 5. Wear sunglasses. Taking these steps can help prevent vision loss or blindness from many eye diseases and conditions. In addition, comprehensive dilated eye exams can detect problems early, when they’re easier to treat. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call 816-746-9800 and we would be happy to help!

Moyes Eye Center has literally restored my eyesight to my new normal . I have seen 3 of the Doctor’s there, and all of them have given such wisdom and insight... into the eye condition I have. If you can read this post, don’t take for granted that gift of reading. Keep your eye appointments, wear sunglasses, and avoid that UV light on the lake or poolside , and don’t take for granted looking lovingly at that family we were blessed with. I will most likely always take expensive eye medication, but I’m grateful for my vision. Have a safe Memorial weekend my fb friends!! See more

During this difficult time, Moyes Eye Center doctors gave back to local area resident doctors in training providing lectures covering varying topics as these upcoming doctors plan for their future. From "How to find the right job" to "Maintaining relationships with other providers" to even "Personal Finances for Residents" each morning lecture provided knowledge and direction so the next wave of doctors can begin their career on the right path. #thrivenotjustsurvive

Moyes Eye Center is following the CDC and AAO guidelines regarding patient care during the COVID-19 crisis. Specifically we have been asked to limit our care to... urgent and emergency visits and postpone all routine eyecare visits. We understand the inconvenience this may bring up for all of our patients but we firmly believe following these guidelines is best in order to protect all of us and most importantly those people in society who may be at greatest risk to suffer from the lethal consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. With all of this in mind, we are still here to serve you. We are seeing emergencies and urgent care patients on a case by case basis throughout the week. If you need assistance please: 1. call our office 816-746-9800 2. If you are unable to speak to someone directly please try using Facebook messenger or Google messaging For emergencies: Call our office 816-746-9800 For after hours emergencies: Call 816-746-9800 as we have our usual "on-call" service who will get a hold of a doctor to arrange for care. Again, we care for you all and are here to serve you as we always have been. We apologize for the disruption in our normal care but truly believe our decision is in the best interest of society.
