Struggling with self-doubt? I know the feeling all too well. As I sit and scroll through social media, I am grappling with the fact that I disobeyed God. My disobedience wasn’t in the form of a blatant No, or a conscious non-compliance. My disobedience was clothed in self-doubt. ... Aug. 2020, God gave me the idea for a t-shirt graphic that I did not put into action. I was too busy doubting my ability to sell a t-shirt as a financial coach asking things like, Who would buy it? Why would they buy it? What does it have to do with financial coaching? None of those excuses (ahem, I mean questions) mattered. The fact is, I let fear and doubt distract me from obeying God. Today, I saw another financial coach wearing a shirt with the EXACT graphic God showed me. Coincidence? Not likely. Why? Because God is not obligated to let the ideas He gives me die with me. I didn’t move, so he gave it to someone who would. (#message). Here’s 3 things I am quickly reminded off: 1. God’s purpose will ALWAYS come to pass with or without me. My choice. Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Prov. 19:21 2. Self doubt is costly. It depletes my time, my energy, my mind, my emotions, and my money. 3. No matter how small or big the task God assigns me, it’s my job to do it. Not question it. What thing have you been assigned to do, but self-doubt (disobedience) is in the way? When I was younger, I used to tell myself that by the age of 30 I would be married with 2.5 kids, living in my dream home, and climbing the ladder of success in my career. I would also be wealthy and wouldn't have a care in the world because by then, I would have already matured and fully grown into who God created me to be. At the age of 38, I can tell you these things are so far from the truth because of 2 important factors called LIFE & PURPOSE.... My ideas were based on this notion that by 30 I should have my life figured out. But where did that come from? The world will make you believe that once you hit a certain age if you have not aspired to what society says you should, you're a loss cause. BUT GOD! Sarah was 90 when she gave birth to Isaac, and although she laughed when God told her, it did not keep God from fulfilling His promise. David was a teenager when he defeated Goliath, and yet he had more courage than the adults around him. Despite his mistakes, God still anointed David to be king. Don't let anybody tell you where you should be in life because of your age. You have a journey that is YOURS. Consult with God and do the work He has called you to do. Walk out your journey at the pace God has set for you, not what the world says. "Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]." Met with a potential contractor Added important dates to my new wall calendar Facilitated class with Prentice for Week 3 of our current cohort of The Believers Budget Course: The Christian Blueprint for Money Management Annnnd I even managed to squeeze in filming a video to begin transitioning our virtual course to a new platform. Moral of the story: You can achieve ANY goal you have if you start, and work in small steps. No one begins at the finish line.
