As you may know, with every pair of eyeglasses you purchase, we donate a portion to our eye clinic in Guatemala. We haven't been able to travel there recently, ...so we used your funds to purchase seriously needed food and essentials to those families in Guatemala. Here are some photos of those you helped! Under Missouri's "Phase 1" of recovery, can I receive non-emergency healthcare, such as a routine eye exam or dental care? YES! Medical providers, such as denti...sts and optometrists, may provide usual services at their discretion. The social distancing requirements do not apply to individuals performing job duties that require contact with other people closer than six feet (6’). Medical providers should develop and implement public health and safety measures for employees and patients, using https://showmestrong.mo.gov/ as a guide, in addition to any guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Implementing a system where patients can wait inside their vehicles prior to entering the office is strongly encouraged, as are pre-scheduled and spaced out appointments to minimize interaction between people. Hospitals have made important changes to the delivery of care needed to address COVID-19, said Steve Edwards, President and CEO of CoxHealth in Springfield, and 2019 Missouri Hospital Association Board Chair. Across the globe and across our state, hospitals purposefully reduced elective procedures to conserve PPE and to create capacity for a possible surge. As PPE supplies have grown, and the incidence of COVID-19 cases have stabilized, it is very important that we encourage patients with routine and emerging medical concerns to seek care. The impact of not seeking care may be every bit as consequential as the pandemic itself. Missouri hospitals are following best practices with an intense focus on infection prevention and overall safety. We will follow a phased-in approach mirroring other aspects of the state’s recovery proceeding carefully and safely.

Notice on COVID-19 Office Changes We want to let all of our patients know how we are operating during this unusual and unprecedented time. Starting Monday, March 23rd our Ashland and South Columbia (Nifong Blvd) offices will be closed for the time being. If you have glasses or contacts lenses to be picked up at those offices, you will still be able to get them at our main Columbia office on Keene Street. At our Keene office, we will be open with minimal staffing for urgent o...r emergent visits and glasses/contact lens delivery. Glasses or contacts can be delivered curbside while you wait in your car. Just call us and let us know when you arrive. 573-874-2030. Our Montgomery City office is available for glasses and contact lens delivery only. Our California office is available for glasses and contact lens delivery as well as urgent/emergent eye care. If you have an eye problem, call our office and we will triage your case appropriately. We are still available to see patients with problems that require an office visit. And we are taking every possible precaution when seeing those patients. For patients with eye problems who cannot come to the office or do not wish to come in to see us in person, we are capable of performing telehealth calls remotely for these cases via video calls. Again, call our office and we will initiate that process for you. If you are in need of contacts, we are also offering free shipping direct to your home at no charge in almost all cases. We will be working with local emergency rooms and urgent care offices to provide necessary office care for emergency cases so that they can best use their resources to care for patients affected by this crisis. We will continue to evaluate this dynamic situation and update this page with any changes. From our family to yours, we wish you health and peace during this time. Be safe!

In the midst of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Influenza, we want you to know that we are committed to helping stop the spread of germs. We are being extra vigilant in our high traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces (doorknobs, countertops, pens, etc) and making it a top priority to be certain the extent of cleaning is at a high level. Our team has gloves and masks on hand and are aware of the signs/symptoms that would indicate the need for these additional precautions... to be taken. In an effort to further protect our team, patients, and the community, we ask that you contact our office prior to any scheduled appointment if you or a family member have a cough, fever, difficulty breathing, sore throat, or runny nose so that we can reschedule any non-emergent appointment to another convenient time Thank you for helping to keep our community safe! Montgomery City Eye Consultants Optometry Business Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Friday - Sunday Closed (573) 564-3877
