Come in and check out the amazing progress being made on Henry!! This past week we accomplished getting the spinal column up and mounted in its final position, the ischia (curved pelvic bones) mounted and started on the cervical ribs. The rib cage should really start coming along the next couple of weeks!!

Clearly not a picture of our museum and for the record this is Sue the T rex and it would take two of these to equal one Henry, the true king of the dinosaurs. But please click on the story and enjoy because they did a great job.

What a great story on our cave! A quick side note, we don't own the cave we manage it on behalf of Greene County. The Place: A Journey Into Riverbluff Cave https://www.ky3.com//the-place-a-journey-into-riverbluff-c

Hello friends! We were recently informed about a website called "hulafrog" having a cave tour listed with us as an event on Sunday. This is NOT an event that MINS is offering. We apologize for any confusion.

Now that we have gotten past last weekend's crazy events, let's get back to doing what we do best and that is creating the most interesting displays we can think of. The other day our safe was delivered by the fine folks at Show Me Safe and Vault co( in picture). Stop in to see this beautiful piece and find out what our plans are.

A couple of videos from today as Manny Villa erased the graffiti from the rocks. We appreciate his donation to help make the world a better place. Check out his Facebook page and see some of the work he does.

Want to give a huge shout out to Manny Villa of Star D surface prep and restoration. He called yesterday and said he would donate his services to erase the damage. This morning first thing he was on site and getting the job done. We appreciate his time and expertise and willingness to keep our place looking great for everyone. Check out his website/Facebook page and if you find you are in need of his services, I suggest highly that you call him.

https://www.ky3.com//crews-work-to-clean-graffiti-off-of-/ Soon the damage will be cleaned off and we can continue to do what we do best, and that is to explore, discover and educate our visitors. Meanwhile, we ask those of you that live near us to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior in the area. When in doubt, please contact the authorities. Let's continue to make the area a safe and friendly place for everyone.

Hello everyone, today the rock outcrops near the museum were vandalized by idiots. Volunteer Sarah alerted us to it and our director and his son went out to investigate it. We will only show the after photos as we don't want to show the offensive nazism and racist graffiti that was placed on the property. Henry enjoyed covering their racist propaganda with purple latex paint. A big thanks to the Greene County Sheriff's department for their quick response to this. We needed to cover the offensive language till Monday when work crews can eradicate the graffiti for good. Let's hope we catch the vandals and put an end to the stupidity.

Ever wonder how Henry ate or what his favorite food was. Here is a wonderful illustration by artist Rob Soto that will help you answer those questions.

On this date 19 years ago, Riverbluff Cave was discovered. This picture shows where we stopped exploring the cave the first day. We stacked a small pile of rocks as a marker and turned around to tell others about all of the amazing things we saw. This may have been the end of the first day but in reality it was the beginning of creation of the Missouri Institute of Natural Science. 19 years ago today a cave was discovered and a museum born.

Tonight we are working late to assemble and learn how to use a 3d printer on loan to us from Daniel one of our volunteers. This will help us create the missing parts of Henry.
