Signs or no signs, Be Alert and chose Safety First!!! TURN AROUND DON'T DROWN #1mission1team1community

Amber got out of her car at a local sandwich shop for some lunch and heard a cat crying...turns out it was her cat, Lola , stuck between the radiator and the grill of her car. After a lengthy rescue attempt, 2212 was able to just barely access the nearly sealed off space to get a hold of her leg which the rest of her followed (with the coaxing of some gentle water spray ). Amber was so very happy to have Lola back safe in her arms and we’re sure Lola was content with the extent of her adventure. #1mission1team1community

WHATS GOING ON UNDER THAT FLOOD WATER???? Heres a friendly reminder that just because flood water doesn't look deep, doesn't mean that there is still a road under the water. #1mission1team1community

Tangled Talons Lead To Raptor Rescue At approximately 1:30 this afternoon, Monarch was dispatched to an animal rescue call on Sunny Hill Ct. in Chesterfield. There was a report of two bald eagles trapped in a tree with their talons entangled with each other. Upon arrival, fire crews found two adult bald eagles hanging precariously in a tree approximately 50 feet above ground. Fire crews were challenged with positioning ladder truck 2242 on a narrow, sloped driveway in posi...tion to deploy the ladder to access the big birds. An animal rescue group was also on the scene to assist in handling the eagles. After careful assessment, the ladder was raised with a firefighter and an animal rescue person in the bucket. As they got near the eagles, the eagles flailed until they separated and gracefully flew away. The crowd of neighbors that had gathered cheered as the eagles flew off. See more

Our House 1 crews were overwhelmed this holiday season from a group of preschoolers at Ascension Catholic School in Chesterfield. The kids took time to make some very special cards for our firefighters and paramedics. We wanted to sincerely express our gratitude for your support from everyone at here at Monarch FPD. Seeing these pictures and messages brought joy to us all in what was definitely a challenging year.
