SCAM ALERT We have received numerous phone calls today from citizens who have been contacted by someone impersonating an officer from the Missouri ICAC Task Force. While it may be possible for a citizen to be contacted via telephone by a legitimate Missouri ICAC investigator, these investigators would NEVER request any form of payment or compensation for alleged illegal acts. ... If you receive a call from someone claiming to be a member of law enforcement, politely request that you be permitted to respond to their department and speak to them in person.

This week, the Missouri ICAC hosted the first session of an all new training program entitled Beware What You Share geared towards local School Resource Officers! This full day course covered topics such as proper evidence handling, social media and app trends, legal considerations, the adolescent brain and more! Participants were provided with a multitude of resources which they’ll be able to utilize to educate their students, parent organizations, and school administrat...ors on the topic of cyber safety.
