Thanksgiving is right around the corner. For many of us that means family, food, and lots of talking. What a great opportunity to tell stories about great aunt so and so and grandpa, or share your talents. Pull out your camera and record the old memories as you make new ones.

What brought your family to the United States: natural disasters, land, religious freedom, war, love? Even if the story wasn’t passed down learning when your family came over and what was going on in history at that time can give you great insight.

We have volunteers all over northwest Missouri, so if you would like some help with finding information for your family tree let us know.

It is never to late to start writing your own history. Start now by taking on this challenge, but instead of 52 stories since we are already into January it will be 49.
