Missouri Budget Project 03.07.2021

MBP released the attached statement in support of Medicaid expansion & the lawsuit filed today in Cole County Circuit Court.

Missouri Budget Project 21.05.2021

We’re extremely disappointed that Missouri policymakers continue to ignore the will of Missourians especially with baseless claims about the fiscal impact of expansion. State after state has shown that Medicaid expansion is an economic benefit for states. Not only do states save money on existing health services, but federal funds from expansion create jobs and increase economic activity, generating additional tax revenue to fund the state’s share of expansion. No state has had to raise taxes or cut services to pay for it. Medicaid expansion will move forward in Missouri, but Missourians shouldn’t have to wait yet again to see the benefits expansion will bring our state.

Medicaid expansion doesn’t change children’s eligibility, but when coverage is extended to adults, children are more likely to be enrolled too. Plus, kids are more likely to the well-child visits they need. Medicaid expansion = a win for MO kids. #moleg https://www.mobudget.org/medicaid-expansion-is-good-for-ki/

More than 90% of MO kids will benefit from the temporary expansion of the Child Tax Credit especially the 153,000 who will be lifted above or closer to the poverty line. Learn more: https://www.mobudget.org/federal-issu/american-rescue-plan/
