During the Month of the Military Child, the Missouri National Guard Child and Youth Program hosted a Virtual Song Writing Camp and 9 very talented youth participated. They worked together, along with 2 hosts from Say it With Music, to write and record their very own song! (We are not kidding! THIS IS AMAZING!) The youth chose their topic, wrote their own lyrics, and performed their lyrics - all on a virtual platform! This took a lot of patience, strength, and tenacity! Jeanne Zerbonia has been a volunteer for over 25 years, recruited to assist her sons unit during Operation Freedom. This was only supposed to be a temporary du...ty and here we are 25 plus years later! Although she had recently stepped down from volunteering, she will always remain one of our dearest and deeply loved Volunteer!! "Mama Z" as she is known by all within the organization has "adopted" many volunteers and Soldiers during her volunteer time. Volunteering has provided her an outlet to feel like she is actually part of the unit. She has made lifelong friends with many staff members and SFRG volunteers, enjoys quilting and crocheting. Mama Z, you will be missed and We Thank You Deeply for your years of volunteer service, dedication and knowledge. We know you are only a phone call or email away to answer any question, help or pass on your wisdom to the next generation of SFRG volunteer.
