As you can see, this page has not been removed, due to the fact that the St. Charles Composite Squadron was deactivated in January 2016, as I had posted almost a year ago. Something has occurred that has prevented us from closing this page. Therefore, if you would like to keep up to date on CAP events, please like and follow some of the other CAP unit pages, MOWG page, etc. www.gocivilairpatrol.com

Update from South Carolina.

St. Charles Composite Squadron 15.11.2021

The St. Charles Composite Squadron participated in the Missouri Wing, Group 2 Simplex Relay Communications Exercise on 12 September 2015. The purpose was to relay messages from Malden, Missouri to Hannibal, Missouri and back, utilizing a single VHF-FM frequency. This exercise was to help establish our communications goals for emergencies when the repeaters are not available. A repeater is a transmitter/receiver that receives a signal on one frequency and simultaneously transmits that signal on another frequency. This type of radio is used to establish a greater communication area. Since repeaters are usually located in high areas, repeaters allow mobile and handheld radios to communicate over greater distances, where line-of-sight between them and the other station is not possible.

Missouri Wing's ICUT compliance is 97.1%. Second only to Washington Wing. That's a lot of hard work by some very dedicated folks. THANK YOU!!!!

Since the St. Charles Composite Squadron is now de-activated, this page will be shut down on 1 February 2016. Please visit the other Civil Air Patrol Facebook pages, such as the main Civil Air Patrol page, the one for the Missouri Wing, the one for Group 2, Missouri Wing, the one for the Wentzville Composite Squadron or the pages for the many other units throughout the United States of America and it's territories. We would like to thank everyone for their GREAT support over... the years. Please continue to to support the Civil Air Patrol, financially if you can. Otherwise, get lost...and we will be there to look for you.

St. Charles Composite Squadron 07.07.2021

It's a sad day. This unit, 23040 or more recentlty known as NCR-MO 040, has officially been de-activated, as of today, 11 January 2016 at 16:13z. It had been around since the mid 1960s. I joined as a cadet in 1977. Good bye...St. Charles Composite Squadron. You will be missed.

I hate to say this, but the St. Charles Composite Squadron will be closing down at the end of 2015. I originally joined the Squadron in 1977. The Squadron has had it's ups,and downs over the years with the number of members. However, this time, we just couldn't recover. Please, feel free to join us at our "offspring" Squadron, the Wentzville Composite Squadron, MO-110. Way back in the day, when I was a cadet, St. Charles had grown so much, that there was an O'Fallon Flight of the St. Charles Composite Squadron, formed in O'Fallon Missouri. From the O'Fallon Flight, the Wentzville Squadron was formed, the last of the "off-shoots" of St. Charles. The other Squadron, that I'm aware of that was formed from St. Charles, was Mid-Rivers Senior Squadron and they, just closed, merging with St. Louis Composite Squadron #1, MO-005.

https://m.facebook.com/groups/463491123789295?view=permalink&id=600242686780804 Please pray for Scott Lawson and the rest of his family. Col Jeanette and Lt Col Scott Lawson, Civil Air Patrol/United States Air Force Auxiliary, were in a horrific motorcycle accident on Saturday, October 17th 2015, in western Arkansas on US Highway 71. Scott is fighting to keep his left arm and the use of his legs at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. It is with a heavy heart that I report that... Jeanette was called home to heaven. She was 59 years young. Jeanette was the MO Wing Commander 1998-2001. Scott has been the Sedalia Cadet Squadron Commander, Group 3 Commander, and also led the Pathfinders Technical Training School from the late 80's, through the 90's, and into the new millennium. He has also been the Father of three generations of "The Beast", the Mobile Communications Center and Search Vehicle(s) operated by the Sedalia Cadet Squadron. With all of this, Jeanette has been by his side as co-director of Pathfinders. After her tenure as Wing Commander, Jeanette returned to the Sedalia Cadet Squadron as Administration, Cadet Programs, and as an Advisor to the Commander. Here is a photo of Jeanette and Scott pinning on C/2Lt on their younger daughter, Sara, 20 June 2013: http://sedalianewsjournal.com//2/07/IMG_1590-Version-2.jpg
