I always have a ton of my guests ask me how I curl my hair and how to achieve a soft and textured wave. Well first, I learned these specific waves from @madimariehair. So I like to call them them the Madi Waves. Ever since she taught me I have been obsessed with wearing them and sharing my knowledge with my clients. So shout-out to her! . What you will need: Pillow Proof Dry Shampoo. Even if your hair is clean, dry shampoo will give you a more textured feel, and make your... hair easier to manipulate. Spray 6-12inches away, aiming directly at the root and massage into your scalp. Iron Shape 11 for heat protection. Spray 6-12 inches away from head. Blowdry, if it makes your hair feel damp. Windblown 05 Texture Spray. After you're done curling, spray 6-12 inches away to cool down and set your curls before combing them out. Shine Bright Taming Serum. This is a cuticle polisher. Use about a dime size and imulsifiy in your hands until it has melted and is smooth. Now you're ready to run your fingers through your hair to separate the curls. Some Tips and Tricks: If you want a softer appearance, use a wide tooth detangling brush or a denmen comb. As you're curling, don't get discouraged when you see the curls not looking like a finished style. Trust the process and make it to the very end. This seems like it is a no brainer but I often hear people say "I just give up and do a messy bun." TAKE SECTIONS and keep them clean and organized. The smaller and cleaner the section, the easier to manipulate. PRIMPING IS OKAY! Once your hair is curled and combed out, analyze and detail your hair. Sylist do it all the time on our guests and on ourselves. If it doesn't look right, try a different part, a half pony, or a small braid or clip! Practice! Like with anything, the more you do it the better you get! For a tighter curl, have a stronger hold on the flat iron. For a loose wave, have less tension.
