Such an important and vital first step to ensuring the representation, training, and access of students who don’t attend HWI’s (Historically White Institutions), many of which lay claim to well-funded, burgeoning schools of music. As a faculty member at an HBCU, I have seen first hand the talent, drive, and ability of some of these students. All they need is an opportunity to be seen, heard, and trained.
