We can all do a little better each day to improve our health physically, mentally, spiritually and socially. Fitness is not only about how we look, it is also about how we feel, love, motivate and inspire each other. I feel that a lot of time we get so focused on the physical side of fitness, especially with social media it can be a turn off and fitness isn't lived to its full potential. There is a difference between having a fitness mindset and being a ‘gym junkie.’ What I’v...e noticed most about being a fitness professional, especially training others, is the positive affect fitness has on people. I've watched as their overall outlook on life becomes more optimistic with each workout. Setting a fitness goal is a journey of self-discovery not just a physical transformation. It doesn’t matter if you’re working toward doing your first push-up or training for your first marathon. When you set a fitness goal, you learn about how to overcome obstacles. You discover the secret to inner strength that’s been hiding in your souljust waiting to help you become a better you. We start small. Then we build. Slow and strong. Having a fitness mindset is about setting a goal, and then not stopping until you get there. What’s also incredible is watching how working towards a fitness goals helps promote life goals. I see how a fitness mindset empowers relationships. I see how it helps people aspire to be better at work or school. Most incredibly, I see how workouts help work through those darker times. The ones we all sometimes face. The breakups. The struggles. The things we wanted so much to go our way, and for whatever reason, don’t go the way we planned. In both workouts and in life, we have bad days. But having a fitness mindset is about having control over our minds and our bodies. It means knowing that just because we had a bad experience, it doesn’t mean we’re a bad person and learning that success isn't built on success. These obstacles are just another challenge for us to overcome. Because everyday we step out of bed we are one step and one day closer to reaching our goals! See more

Saturday morning Bootcamp Class...these ladies kicked butt today
9 months preggers vs. 2 months PP Also im including a Q&A for my fellow friends who have reached out to me about how staying fit during pregnancy helped ...me. So feel free to keep scrolling if you don’t care. These are just a few questions I’ve gotten multiple times since I’ve been pregnant and hope they can answer for those who’ve asked and anyone interested in knowing. 1. What did you do to stay in shape? -I didn’t change much. I still lifted and trained every week. After 30 weeks I finally started modifying workouts and worked out until the week before I gave birth. I would recommend checking with your doctor first!! I also ate healthy but DID NOT say no to cravings while pregnant. 2. How did working out help your labor? -Eva entered the world 10 days early. I was dilated to a 6 but wasn’t having consistent contractions so they induced me and was only in labor for about 4 hours and pushed for 5 minutes. Lol. (Everyone is different though. That’s just how I think it helped me.) 3. How was pregnancy different between your first and last? - I know every pregnancy is different but it was very different as in the overall pregnancy. This time my morning sickness only last the first trimester and I had great energy all throughout my pregnancy. I snapped back pretty quick and got right back into it, granted I had to take off 6 weeks post baby. 4. Postpartum? -Well that first 6 weeks was a little rough, mentally. I obviously couldn’t workout bc I just popped out a baby so it’s important you have a good support system! Honestly, having Eric by my side, my friends and family FaceTime me, check in on me, bring food, and everything else was such a huge help because let’s be serious, this coronavirus basically ruined a lot! So to have people still reach out and do what they could was very appreciated ! After the first week I pretty much felt healed enough to start going on walks. So I did that to get out the house. Once I got cleared at my 6 week postpartum check up, I was back into working out like I never left ! Lol. Anyways, I loved that I had people reach out to me and I love giving advice to my pregnant friends, non-pregnant friends, and new mamas! This is just what worked for me. IM NOT A PROFESSIONAL BY ANY MEANS! I just thought I would share to help anyone else looking for a little push or advice. Also S/O to Shelley Ortiz and Victoria Coleman-Wilson for helping stay motivated and making sure I was careful during bootcamp at MJ Fitness! Even during this pandemic when we went on lockdown, they still made it possible to attend bootcamp virtually and gave great advice !
