We celebrate and remember him on his birth week with the release of his new book, 200 Memorable Missouri Musical Moments, on which he was hard at work on this day last year! We have 3 more members of our staff to celebrate - our piano technician, Lucy Urlacher, our Coordinator of Community Music and Marketing, Joanna Sabater Griffith, and our Managing Director of the Mizzou New Music Initiative (MNMI), Jacob Gotlib. Lucy has worked as our piano technician for several years but also serves as a general maintenance resource and our plant guru. She not only keeps our 120 pianos sounding beautifully, but generously donates her time to keep many pla...nts and trees growing in our two buildings. Joanna coordinates all the marketing and publicity materials that come out of our School and also works with all our parents, students, and teachers in our Community Music Program. In addition, she's a great trombonist! Jacob Gotlib has supervised our MNMI program for many years and helps coordinate many programming events involving guests, faculty, and students. These three are critical to the functioning of our School and definitely make us a better place. Thanks to all three for their dedicated support of our students and faculty! See more

Another staff member highlight! Ben Harting serves as our Admissions Coordinator and meets with many, many students who are interested in being part of the School of Music - undergraduate and graduate, music major and non major. This year, he traversed the virtual meeting world so he didn't have to travel much but he'll be back on the road a bit this Fall for us. Much thanks is due him as it looks like we will have another banner year of incoming freshmen this Fall even with pandemic recruiting restrictions. He just celebrated 5 years with us and we are lucky to have him!
