#BlackHistoryMonth Today we are spotlighting Ms. Lauryn Hill. Lauryn Hill is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer.... Debuting at #1, her album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" set the tone for women in music, earning widespread critical acclaim. "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" swept the '99 Grammy's, allowing Hill to make history in several ways. That night she won five solo GRAMMY's, becoming the first woman to do so. The album also became the first hip-hop album to earn Album Of The Year. The Miseducation has continued to set precedents, most recently as it certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying the sale of more than 10 million copies in the US alone. https://www.rollingstone.com//lauryn-hill-rare-interview-/ Mizzou: College of Education

His works such as "The Souls of Black Folk" sought to capture and contextualize the Black Experience in America while pushing for, and accepting nothing less than, the highest degree of equality possible.
