Calling all Singers!! We have a place for YOU in an MU Choir!

Mizzou Choirs 17.10.2020

Calling all singers interested in singing during the hot summer month of July! Summer Singers will meet again this year during the first summer term. This curricular course, MUS 1842/8842, begins June 3, and ends with the concert on June 27 at 4:00 p.m. The class meets in McKee M, T, W and Th from 2:30 -4:30. No class on Fridays. This year we’ll focus on music slightly outside the typical Western European tradition. Music from India, Kenya, Bulgaria, Guatemala, Venezue...la, and the northern Laplands of Sweden (among others) will take us on a Tour Around the World without leaving CoMo! The wealth of repertoire and the richness of this music will realize how much great music is out there that rarely gets performed! Please let me know of your interest asap. U. Singers - I know you well and would love to have you. Concert Chorale and Hitt St.: Let’s set up a 5 minute hearing so I can figure out where to place you depending on your flexibility and the voicing available. If you are just eager to sing but weren’t in Concert Chorale, Hitt or U. Singers, please contact me and we’ll set up a time - I’d love to hear you and have you join us. Contact a friend - there are many good singers on campus and we would like to get them singing in an MU ensemble! Please contact me asap at [email protected] so we can set the roster and finalize the rep based on personnel. This has been a favorite ensemble experience for many of us and I look forward to this summer. I hope to hear from you soon! rpc See more

Hello current, former and future U. Singers, and all friends of U. Singers! As many of you know, this past year we lost a former U. Singer with great talent and a huge heart. Nathan Ward lost his battle with depression a few short months ago. We have started a scholarship to fund future Mizzou students in Nathan's name. Please, if you can, contribute to this scholarship. Spread the word so that Nathan's legacy will continue to the Mizzou School of Music's future. Thank you. rpc The endowment website is up and running off the School of Music page: https://music.missouri.edu/give-now
