4/16/21 Bloom update: The double pink 'Kwanzan' cherries are in bloom as well as the dogwoods, redbuds and viburnum

: We are so disappointed to cancel this event due to the poor weather forecast. The Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden will still offer free admission fr...om 10am-7pm, and The Gray Campbell Farmstead will still be open for free viewing from 1:30-4:30pm. We hope to see you for kite flying and piñata breaking in April 2022!

4.1.2021: Welcome back! The Yoshino and Weeping Cherries are in bloom in time for opening day and tolerated the cold last night. In Japanese stories, cherries are a symbol of a women's beauty and/or an imperial soldier, whose life might end prematurely, but gloriously! If you miss these cherries, look for the double pink Kwanzan cherries toward the end of April along with dogwoods, redbuds, viburnums, and the new foliage of the Japanese maples.

3/23/21: Cherry blossom watch! The weeping cherries are the first variety of cherry tree to bloom around the gardens. These should be in full bloom on Thursday, April 1st when we re-open for the season! Starting April 1, the Japanese Garden is open daily from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. through September. We close at 6 p.m. during the month of October.
