Don't forget to bring your photos to the convention in Jefferson City for the GFWC Photography Contest. Here is more information from GFWC MO Photography Chair Deanne Fritsche: As State Chair of the photography contest, I would like to encourage all Clubs to participate. If you haven’t already you could even hold a small contest at one of your Club meetings. I look forward to seeing all the new entries this year. GFWC National Rules for Photography 2020 Contest ... Photographs must be the original work of the member submitting the photograph. All contest photographers must be dues paying members of an active GFWC club Photographs must be taken between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2020 ,providing a special allowance for two years of photographs for the 2021 contest, since the 2020 photography contest were not held. Photographs must be taken between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021 for the 2022 photography contest. Contestants must be considered an amateur photographer. GFWC MO Photography Contest Rules for 2020 The only pictures sent to International are first place ones in the 4 specific categories from this years convention. No picture from last year can go to International. Each member can only enter 2 photos per category. Either 2 color, 2 black and white or one of each. Each photo entered this year can not have been a photo entered in last years convention photo contest. The photos this year can include photos taken in 2019 and 2020, as long as they were not presented last year. No pictures from 2019 Photo Contest will be allowed to re-enter 2020 Photo contest Attach a Creative Arts Waiver to the back of each entry One first place winner from each of the four categories will be sent to Nationals. World In Pictures: Our World Up Close World In Pictures: Natural Wonders World In Pictures: Reflections Living the Volunteer Spirit State Photography Contest will be held at our State convention in April. April 22st 9am photo registration opens and closes by 12pm same day. April 23nd 11-11:20am photo award ceremony . Please follow all artwork guidelines for the Photography Contest. All rules and guidelines have been attached or you may find them on the GFWC National website. GFWC Kansas City Athenaeum is co-sponsoring Kansas City Public Library's online presentation of BRIDES ON THE SANTA FE TRAIL 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 14, 2020 https://kclibrary.org/signature-events/brides-santa-fe-trail... The Santa Fe Trail served as a thoroughfare for countless traders, pioneers, and military personnel traveling from Missouri to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Many young brides accompanied their husbands on the overland journey to start new lives out west. In commemoration of the bicentennial anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail, historian Joy L. Poole examines the stories of five wives who traveled the Trail between 1830 and 1870.
