People across the state may be experiencing a range of emotions following the outcome of the election. Rest assured MFHC will continue to work with the new administration at the state and federal levels to advocate for policies that increase health equity and access to reproductive healthcare. Countless individuals across Missouri came together to build immense power during this election, leading to strong wins that move us forward and strengthen access to reproductive and sexual healthcare in our state.
We're celebrating a Title X legend today after a nearly 40-year career with OACAC Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation, OACAC Family Planning, Diane Anthony has retired! Diane served as OACAC's Family Planning Director, earning her accolades and the respect of her colleagues across the state, and she will be sorely missed by all of us at Missouri Family Health Council, Inc. Congratulations to you, Diane, and cheers to your legacy!

Turnout for this election has been historically high, with more people than ever casting their votes in-person or by mail. It is critically important we let election officials do their jobs and carefully count each and every vote. No matter the outcome, Missouri Family Health Council, Inc. is steadfast in our commitment to champion access for every individual to culturally sensitive, quality, sexual and reproductive health education and services. We will continue to live this mission and fight for it every day, regardless of who is in power.

November 1 marks the one-year work-iversary of Phyllis Wilkerson (she/her/hers), Administrative Assistant for Missouri Family Health Council, Inc.! Phyllis is a shining star around our office, always willing to help her teammates with any task, large or small. She’s truly adept at ‘keeping the trains running on time’ at MFHC, and she plays an integral role in all facets of the organization. Congratulations to Phyllis! ’ ?... One of my fondest memories about working at MFHC was witnessing the staff’s outpour of love and support to my son when the schools were shut down due to the pandemic. The staff showed empathy and understanding of the disappointment my son felt for losing out on the opportunity to enjoy his senior year of high school. My son has never met the staff of MFHC. He and I were so surprised and appreciative of the gifts and cards he received for graduating. ’ ? My favorite part about working at MFHC is witnessing the staff celebrate each other for their accomplishments. It doesn’t matter if it’s great or small, I admire the support and moments of celebration that our team takes the time out to share. . Doing the small things to help make a huge impact. ’ ? In the near future, I plan to have my own nonprofit organization that will help women, single moms, and at-risk youth.
