For the month of MAY, we highlighted the Culture Key of INITIATIVE - We see a need and we take action to get it done. We are proud to announce LOUIS LOGAN as our 44th award winner for our Culture Recognition program. Louis has been with MCA less than 2 years but has made a HUGE impact! He is a natural seeker of knowledge and consistently demonstrates initiative in all he does. He recently displayed initiative when he saw a collapsed patient in our parking lot and assis...ted him into his car. Once in the car, the patient stopped breathing. Louis called for assistance and, without hesitation, lowered the patient to the ground and performed CPR. Louis is a rock star and we will be cheering him on to his goal of becoming a CRNA this fall as he continues his educational journey! Congrats Louis!

Scheduling wellness visits with your primary doctor is important for adults. Wellness exams are comprehensive visits that allow physicians to identify preventive measures that can keep you healthy. This includes adult vaccinations, depression and memory testing, cancer risk, and additional screenings your doctor may prescribe.

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer doesn’t usually cause symptoms until it has spread. That’s why the idea of screening looking for lung cancer in people who do not have any symptoms can be helpful. It has the potential to find the cancer earlier, when it might be easier to treat. The American Cancer Society has provided a list of guidelines on who should consider early screening for lung cancer.

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women, but due to COVID-19, many people delayed or canceled their cancer screenings and exams. Preventative screening can help detect cancer early, when it is easier to treat. For those at higher risk for lung cancer, getting yearly low-dose CT scans before symptoms start may increase survival rates by as much as 20 percent. Don’t wait. Screen today. : https://www.boone.org//Stewart-Cance/Lung-Cancer-Screening)
