We are thrilled to welcome the newest addition to our Strang Hall crew - Chef Eli B. Neal - and announce the launch of his New American concept, Minglewood! Mi...nglewood will open for normal business hours TODAY! A Kansas City native, Chef Neal spent his formative years in his great grandmother’s kitchen, who was a restaurant owner in her own right. The vision for Minglewood is a celebration of classic Americana reimagined. I am very inspired by the familiar flavors of the Midwest and American South along with interesting and imaginative takes on classic American ingredients, said Neal. I cook from experiences gained in decades of life and travels across the midwest and the love and respect that I have for American cuisine and culture. Chef Neal recently returned to Kansas City to operate Minglewood where he will offer a unique spin on American favoriteslike his Pork Chop Old Fashioned and Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich. Eli takes food that we all know and grew up eating, a meatloaf sandwich or chicken fried steak for example, and elevates them. So you might think of a dish that has been overdone or not done well, but he takes these items to the next level and it’s incredible, said Joe Follett, director of operations at Strang Hall.
