We are officially open! Planning a visit? Our happy hour today is until 8pm and no cover before 9pm! Our shows start at 10pm every weekend night with limited capacity. Our dance floors will not be open this weekend as we focus on maintaining proper Covid-safety guidelines, however we do hope to open them in the near future as our staff and patrons get acclimated to our current safety procedures. Our weekend (Friday and Saturday) entrance fee is $10, due to capacity limitati...ons our entrance will be first come first served and everyone must present a valid ID at the door to be scanned as well as temperature scanning. We appreciate your patience and participation in our procedures as we work to keep our community safe and enjoy another night together at the B. Be sure to review our Covid policies as well when planning your visit!

We would like to thank Mother/Abess Glamarama Ding Dong and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, City of Fountains Chapter, for their blessing upon our new space and we look forward to sharing it with you our community! Tonight we gather as safely as possible. Tonight we gather to bless a place for us! A space renewed ... This place that has seen so much joy and more than our share of sorrow. Even now as we celebrate, the sting of loss overwhelming so many of us. Love you Austin. This place was originally created out of love and dedication to our community. Tonight we not only bless Missie B’s but Missie herself! A stalwart proponent for our community, a generous benefactor, visual representation of our shared history and an all around local treasure! As the doors are thrown open bringing in the new let’s vanquish the outdated! Tonight we bless inclusion. We bless understanding. We bless enlightenment. Just as walls can get fresh paint, our minds can respect new ideas and concepts of understanding. Tonight our blessings wish safety on all who enter no matter their color or gender Tonight we bless respect. Tonight we bless consent. Tonight we honor the years of laughter and applause. We bless that many more years of skilled performances and dedication to entertainment will happen. Let us all take a deep, cleansing breath... No wait, no...don’t do that! Tonight we look to the mindful easing of isolation. We bless in the days and months ahead that our community will be smart and healthy so we can have one hell of a fucking after party! To end, let us all know that we who gather here are proof that no amount of hatred and ignorance can destroy us. Love will always win. Sisters join me... Ah-men Ah-women Ah-trans folk and all the glittering creatures! See more

Yesterday was the start of many conversations and trainings on race equality among various other topics that we have committed to improving within our bar and with our staff. We would like to thank Justice Horn and Rainbow Mooon, PhD for their stimulating conversations with our staff and management. We look forward to many more training sessions and talks with our community members as we uphold our commitment to provide a safe space for all our LGBTQIA+ community!

For months now we have had multiple on going conversations with our new entertainment director KiKi Uchawi and have tried to listen to what our community wants from us. This has led us to wanting to be more proactive towards communities we have not properly championed for in the past. It is with extreme humility and accountability of ourselves that will be implementing the following changes in phases as we work towards re-opening Missies to its fullest and safest capacity. ...-All staff will be subject to mandatory ongoing training in regards to racial bias, gender and race equity, safe party practices, and more to be provided by credible POC led organizations in Kansas City. -DJ nights will host a range of different types of music by local DJs for various different demographics. -Updating multiple bathrooms in our bar to be non-gendered bathrooms -re-evaluations casting and hosting practices to better diversify our shows -creating more opportunities as they arise for more POC and trans/non-binary people to be apart of the Missie Bs family. These small steps will be a stepping stone as we promise to continue working to ensure our community that Missie Bs is the place for everyone to feel welcome. In this bar we believe Black Lives Matter, and we believe Trans Lives Matter. If you have ever felt unwelcome at Missie Bs, we would like to take the time to publicly apologize and ensure you that we are actively working to create a space where you will never feel unwelcome again. Thank you for your continued support and always know that we support you too!
