We want to give some safety tips and reminders with the article temperatures and predicted snow moving in the area the next few days. Please check on your relatives especially the elderly, when adding heat sources make sure to keep them 3ft away from anything that can burn. Avoid being outside if at all possible. The predicted temperatures and wind chills are dangerously cold. We will be keeping a close watch on the incoming weather and will be responding with extreme cauti...on if we are needed. We pray for all of emergency services who have to be out in these temperatures and travel to work. Fire, Police, Ems, Communications and tow service. We also pray and thank MODOT and all the county and municipal road crews that will be out trying to keep the roads cleared as much as possible.

We would like to announce that our new Ladder Truck 1391is officially in service! It has been a long 20 days getting the truck ready but it is worth every minute that we put into it so that we can better serve our community. We got it back from FTI Printing today which was the finale step to getting the truck in service and we must say they did an awesome job on the stickers.

Tonight was a busy night for our department. We spent several hours working on getting our new ladder truck ready for service as we have to take equipment off of one truck and place on the new. We didn't quite get it finished but we are over half way and with another good day of work we will have it ready to serve our community and surrounding agencies that may need our assistance.

Tonight we were invited by Scott County Rural to do some training. We took advantage of the opportunity and spent the evening doing some real life scenarios in a controlled environment. Training like this gets us ready for real life. We trained on search and rescue along with hose advancements. Pictures look blurry but that is actually smoke from a smoke machine that gives a real life affect. Thank you Scott County Rural Fire Protection District for having us!
