Q: I’ve read that the ACA's individual mandate (requiring most employees to maintain health insurance or pay a tax penalty) no longer applies. If that’s the case, why is ACA reporting still required? It seems like, at the very least, employees would no longer need to receive the 1095-B, the sole purpose of which is for them to demonstrate that they had coverage. Q: Several employees (including some executives) have asked if they can elect to pay their health and dental premiums on an after-tax basis. It never crossed my mind that anyone would prefer to pay after taxes and forgo the tax savings they would otherwise get. What types of issues or concerns should we consider before deciding whether to offer the post-tax option? A: See Julie Athey's answer at https://bit.ly/33IyQWu
