Flash Giveaway!!! In celebration of my daughter's half birthday we teamed up with @snoozeameatery as they are also celebrating a milestone. Opening soon in @westportkc is their newest edition to the KC brunch scene. Snooze is committed to cultivating a menu of dishes that only come from sources which have a positive impact on the environment. Snooze works hard with partners who are as passionate as they are about food, sustainable agriculture, and how animals are treate...d to help create a better food system for future generations to thrive upon. That part is a direct quote from their website which just shows how serious they try to be about making good food. To us that sounds amazing! Over the past year we have worked hard to increase our intake of deliciously tasty and healthy meals, most of it being plant based. Plus we love the growing trend of restaurants dedicated to improving the environment around them. Here's your chance to experience Snooze for yourself. But on us! We're hosted a giveaway for three of our lovely followers to join us for brunch and we have one spot left. This will be a fabulous way to join us as we explore a new restaurant as well as take part in one of our social brunches. The party goes down on February 1st. To enter this giveaway, follow @midwestfoodscene and tag someone who loves brunch as much as you. Each non-celebrity, active account tagged is an entry. One per comment please. Must be available to attend brunch. The winner will be announced tonight at 10 pm. Good luck! See more

@pliberda from @waldothai My city is currently covering in snow which means most are at home, warm and cozy. But I've seen several posts from restaurants that opened today inspite of the weather. And I just want to take a moment to say how much I appreciate the locally based small business owners who for the sake of people who still want a good place to eat out, and their employees who might otherwise miss a day of pay, came into work today. People tend not to consider or remember how hard winters can be for small businesses. Think of how many of your favorite places closed last year... But as this year starts off, I hope you will make a point to explore more local food instead of chain restaurants, shop at local boutiques instead of bigger retail stores, go to local events and concerts instead of national shows.

@wardellholmesre "Good health is freedom" I couldn't agree more with this photo @rubyjeansjuicery. Especially coming off of all the feasts we had over the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Kwanzaa holidays. I don't know about you but, my belly needs a break from all those rich foods. Bring on the detox! I'm no expert in diet but I can say that giving myself even a few days of sticking to just fruits and veggies makes me feel rejuvenated. There are so many benefits to certain fresh foods like the ones you would find in a smoothie or juice. Plus Ruby Jean's are just so tasty! My personal favorite is their PB&J! Oh and of course I can't end without mentioning how charming the shop is with all its decor and artwork.

Cheers to all the food we ate and loved in 2019! Yesterday I joked about my goals for this year being eating shakes, and fries. Oh and good vibes too! While those will definitely happen I'm also going to be more sincere with how I post about food. No more of just the standard photo with a minimal caption. Do you ladies & and gents even get one clue as to the quality of a restaurant + food from that? No! It's so basic, and in my humble opinion a disservice to the clients... we influencers are working with. So from now on I'll give you the real dish on the places we eat. #midwestfoodscene See more
