Midwest Grit Softball

Midwest Grit 12u played some good softball this weekend in the NSA Playing with Honor event. Going 4-0 and coming home with the championship. We missed a few of our players this weekend but we appreciated Raylon Nanney for helping us out. Great weekend for some Grit softball. #gristsoftball

They are thick and comfy and fold up nice and small. The price is $45. You can either purchase a plain red, black, and white plaid with no logo or you can purchase the Midwest Grot logo blanket. These would make great gifts and will be in in time for Christmas. We will have a couple of these blankets at the tournament this weekend if anyone wants to see it. Midwest Grit 12U has their first tournament in the books and closed it out with a Championship win! They fought hard to get to the championship and fought #NorahStrong today!

Midwest Grit 12U went gold for childhood cancer and #NorahStrong today at the Strike Out Cancer Tournament in O’Fallon, Illinois and are so far undefeated. Ou...r thoughts and prayers are with you Norah Miller! Our thoughts and prayers are also with many friends and family that have fought hard and won, are still fighting or who we have lost fighting the good fight. We are also thankful for our very own #64 Michaela Reagan who survived having cancer at the age of 4. See more

Midwest Grit 8U played their first games this weekend in a double header. The first game they had 33 at bats, with only 3 strike outs (2 being first at bat in a game with coach pitch), 2 ground outs to first and 2 throw outs to first, resulting in 26 on base hits with 20 scoring. They won the first game 20-5. The second game they had 40 at bats with only 1 strike out, 2 ground outs to first and 2 fly outs, resulting in 35 on base hits with 22 of them scoring. They won the sec...ond game 22-3!!! They fielded outs to first from multiple positions including pitcher, second, short, third, right center and almost from catcher for a total of 10 throw outs at first between the two games! They caught 3 pop flies, fielded 5 ground outs to first and 2 force outs at second. They inning run ruled the opponent 5 of the 9 innings played and were only one run short from run ruling them 2 other innings. Keep in mind this is 8U ball and there are errors and overthrows, but the girls landed with 42 singles, 12 doubles, 4 triples, and 3 homeruns on the day. These gritty 8U girls are heading to Jonesboro, Arkansas this weekend for their first ever tournament! There will be some some high level and more experienced competition down there, but one thing is for sure, they are gonna put up quite the fight!!! Way to Go Allie Gartman!! Yesterday was a big day for her! She broke not one but TWO school records! She is now the schools record base stealer and now holds the record for the most runs ever scored!

Great day of softball!!! Got Grit Morgan’s team on the field with the spring high school girls...Filled in the holes with some Grit McCain players and did well. Good to get these girls going 3-0 today and into the championship!!!... Very happy with this group today!!!
