Saker egg number 5 has pipped just as the chick from egg number 4 hatched. Chick number 4 is snuggled warmly in the brooder.

Three young Saker falcons on the cusp of going to their new falconers! Exciting times!

Lanneret Vice has flown from the eyrie this morning with his falconer Jessica Rafiner and awesome Mom and co-pilot Margaret! Safe travels all!

Spending quality time with an imprint we bred last season. Looking forward to flying him again this fall.

They just can’t get any cuter...

The Peruvian Harris’s Hawks are officially branchers. They have wandered in and out of the nest basket on the network of limbs and are looking pretty grown up right now at 6 weeks of age.

Lots of patience is required to do this for a living. Some of these eggs were laid by pairs who had to be moved from previous facilities, others by young pairs who have been together a few years and finally had first clutches, and others from reliable older pairs who have raised many a young.

This little Lanneret flew to Florida, and boy are his wings tired! Just kidding, Delta Cargo did the heavy lifting! Then he ate and took a nap! Photo courtesy of Frederick Ottoway.

Busy night with the last of the 2021 Saker chicks hatching, managing its four siblings and the two imprinting Lanner chicks that will ship out to new falconers next week. Plus all the other things involved with running a large breeding project. Spring is in full Swing!
