The groups performing include the 6th grade concert band, 7th grade concert band, high school concert choir, and the high school wind ensemble. HOLIDAY BREAK PARENT INFORMATION: Hello Dragon Parents, Last night a phone message went out regarding some school updates as we prepare to go on Christmas break. School will release next Friday, December 18th at 3:05 for the holiday break. A full parent letter is being sent home today and can also be found on our website at www.midbuchanan.k12.mo.us scrolling across the home page. Just click on the 'Holiday Break Letter' link.... A quick overview: The letter is being provided to communicate a "what if" plan in the event the holiday break has a large impact on Covid-19 related cases that would cause the district to consider any virtual options upon our return in January. Please know that our goal is to continue with on-site instruction as normal upon our return on Tuesday, January 5th. Please do not assume any of this means we are already planning a virtual move...we are not. Our students need to be on-site and we'll continue to do everything we can to make that possible. The largest concern related to any virtual learning consideration will most likely be driven by staffing. As long as the district is able to staff our classrooms effectively; then we are FULL STEAM AHEAD with on-site learning after break. Again, the 'Holiday Break Letter' is just the "what if" plan. The district is also wanting to ensure we know exactly how many families would need a Hot Spot in the event of virtual learning at any level. Congratulations to our finalists in the VFW Patriots Pen contest. Mid-Buchanan students finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the area competition. Teacher Ashley Schmitz was also honored with the Teacher of the Year Award. Congratulations students and Mrs. Schmitz!
