Brian Thomas, Assistant Head of School, led a team to produce a newsletter Every Child, Every Day, designed by faculty for faculty to provide fresh, innovative pedagogy, teaching styles, and, perhaps more importantly, to connect with each other. As Mr. Thomas nears the end of his time here at MICDS, he took the opportunity to share his final thoughts with his colleagues. And we'd like to share them with you! Second graders recently learned about fictional narratives by writing their own original short stories. While given a setting (the St. Louis Aquarium) and theme (robots) to work with, students brought their stories to life by filling out blank hardcover books provided by Lisa Gil Diaz, Executive Assistant to the Head of School. Read one of their creative writing stories here: http://ow.ly/FBlq50D7ARD! #MICDS

Caroline '25 and Maxwell Birkel '23 helped build dive carts out of PVC for disabled veterans to transport heavy dive gear during Winter Break. This project benefited the veteran's organization, LifeWaters which offers "discover scuba" and scuba certifications through Scuba Diving International (SDI) (Scubility Program) as part of recreational water therapy. #MICDS #purposeandservice

Congratulations to Ally Kalishman ’21 for her proactive, hard work in co-authoring a psychology research study about the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on postpartum depression.
