Over 1900 students from 45 states and 6 countries , including Ukraine, Switzerland and Mexico have registered for the Midwestern Music Camp virtual summer camp at The University of Kansas. Band of Angels, Meyer Music and Fox 4 TV are proud to be a part of this. The camp is offering 70 online sessions on every instrument and various topics over 3 days along with special guest artists from across the country FREE to all music students. Over 300 students have also signed up for ...virtual private lessons in addition to the camp sessions. "What started as an idea to make sure and continue the eight decade long continuous summer camp at KU, has turned into a wonderful thing, thanks to the hard work of our Kansas University instrumental faculty and band and orchestra staff, along with Meyer Music & Band of Angels. It just goes to show, that setbacks can lead to positive things if you adapt and move forward. I believe music will come out of these times as truly missed and valued, and better times will come again!" said Steve Leisring - Professor of Trumpet at KU. FREE Music Camp opportunity for Parents & Students. With the current COVID-19 pandemic, the KU Midwestern Music Camp is going to continue its tradition via remote learning this year. We are preparing an outstanding lineup of artist teachers to work with students through a variety of offerings. Thanks to the generous support of Meyer Music and Band of Angels program, we are able to offer this year’s camp for FREE! Learn more at http://music.ku.edu/mmc Completion Students wh...o attend 12 or more sessions will receive a 2020 Virtual MMC t-shirt, sticker, and downloadable certificate of completion. T-shirts are limited to the first 500 students who complete 12 sessions and fill out our camp completion link. The link will be sent to students with the schedule of sessions. Private Lesson Option Parents may sign up their students for an optional 30-private lesson with the instrumental faculty. Private lessons cost $30, and payments are made via the registration page. Our instrumental faculty will email students and parents to set up a time for the lesson.
