Your local Thrivent Community is partnering with Project Backpack to make a difference in our community. Project Backpack provides backpacks for children who are removed from their homes, usually with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The backpacks are age and gender appropriate and make the transition from crisis situations to foster homes more tolerable, and often, this is all the children will have with them for quite some time. The backpack tells the child that someone cares when their whole world is crashing around them. Become part of Thrivent Community’s endeavor to fill 50 backpacks. We will be collecting backpack contents on Tuesdays and Thursdays during June and will plan a packing event, either outside or virtually, later in the summer.
