Let charity then be our badge of honour So that it may truly be said, there is in us but one heart. Mercy foundress Catherine McAuley. Coinciding with Mercy's 125th anniversary in the Joplin community, we are kicking off an initiative with a goal of having our co-workers commit 125 acts of kindness in our 125th year. One of the first was a recent food drive at #MercyCarthage for Catherine's Cupboard, our food pantry for co-workers in need. Be on the lookout for many more acts of kindness as we celebrate a century and a quarter of service to the community.

Thanks to co-worker Dan Smith for this amazing image from Mercy Hospital Fort Smith!

Happy CRNA Week to certified registered nurse anesthetist like Keri Dewey! "Like all CRNAs, I was a bedside nurse first. I really enjoyed patient care and wanted to deepen my understanding of anesthesia while furthering my education in the medical field. I like taking care of patients during a difficult time in their life and it's rewarding to know I'm able to make my patients comfortable before, during and after surgery."

When you quit smoking, you don’t just improve your life, you also improve the lives of those you love. Quitting protects them from secondhand smoke. It also improves your health, giving you more energy to spend time with them, which means no more missing special moments. Ready to #GetQuit for your family? Visit www.OKtoQuit.com for a free resource guide. Additionally, nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) can increase your chance of quitting for good. Visit your Mercy doctor to see if NRT is right for you.
