Meet Emily. Emily was born with down syndrome & later in life developed Keratoconus, an eye disease that affects the structure of the cornea, resulting in loss of vision if not treated properly. Emily had corneal cross-linking done by Dr. Shachar Tauber at Mercy Surgery- Eye Center. The sweet surgical team gifted Miss Emily a bear that they all signed to commemorate the day. We are so happy to announce that she is seeing better and doing really well. No cornea transplant for this little lady!
