You all have been so kind to continue to ask about my sons ear and how he’s doing. His third surgery was yesterday and we got good news! His cholesteatoma tumor has not returned! This doesn’t mean it won’t ever return but our odds are much better that it won’t since it hasn’t in the first year. This was our prayers being answered for sure! The Dr was able to reposition his titanium hearing bone implant again. Unfortunately his ear drum was collapsed, his Dr did his best to fix it but explained it may collapse again. We will have more options to help fix that as he gets older. We will still have frequent Dr appointments and some future surgeries but overall this was good news! He is such a trooper and handled everything so well. It amazes me how brave he is

Just a lil pup who found some sunshine on a rug our son still still says he can’t believe he got a pug. This little dude has definitely added some extra chaos to our lives and lots of smiles too.

Bought bird feeders for the first time a few days ago so now we are bird watchers. Not quite how I pictured myself in my mid thirties but look at all our look little birdies!

2021, what a year! This year was huge for growth in my little store! I surpassed sales goals that I thought were a long ways away. You all have showed me so much support! The amount of times I was told this year, "Your boutique is my favorite!" Wow! I try to play it cool in front of people but it makes me tear up! A store that I created from scratch is your favorite? The positive feedback that I have received from so many of you means the world to me and reminds me that I'm d...oing something right, it's easy to question yourself when you're the one in charge of all the decisions for your business but you have helped reassure me that I've got this! I really wish I could see that High School counselor again that told me I would never amount to anything if I didn't go to college. I always planned to own my own business, and I knew I didn't have to have a degree to make it happen. It's hard being a small business owner, very hard at times, but I just couldn't imagine doing it any different. We were blessed this year with the opportunity to buy the store building which is such an accomplishment for us personally. We own a piece of Camdenton history with this little house, that's something special! I hope my customers know I genuinely appreciate you all so much! You have supported my store, done the very best advertising with word of mouth to your friends, and you've been patient when life happens and I need to put my kids first. Many of you even prayed for our son this year when we found his tumor (next surgery in January, let's hope it hasn't regrown much or even better, not at all!) I just truly have the best customers and my store wouldn't be what it is without you all. Thank you for a record breaking 2021! I'll be open until 4pm today and then it's time for my yearly break. Some time to accomplish things at home, work on more projects, be there for my kids and husband like I wish I could always be, and come back with a fresh mind to tackle another year in business! This is me we prefer to stay off the roads on nights like these so we usually get Chinese and find something to watch on tv. I will be open today and tomorrow 10-5 and New Years Eve 10-4. These are my last days open before my seasonal closing. I am closed January 1st-February 7th and will re-open February 8th. I have plenty of new arrivals that I got on the racks just before Christmas and never got the chance to post with all the busy-ness. Stop in and shop while you can! What has the Mem’s crew been up to on our first week being closed.... Well, my moving crew is a mess! The girly one decided to pull out a tooth on our daily trip to the old house, all we had in the suburban was a beef jerky bag to put it in The oldest one is an angry moose with my moose antlers and no one should try to convince him he isn’t a moose! ... The youngest one found his long lost Mohawk helmet and insisted on wearing it the whole time we loaded up clothes tonite Our move hasn’t been conventional. As we get more done on the new house (like closet systems in the kids rooms, hoping master closet is next!) then we go load up more stuff and bring it. So everyday is moving day, everyday is still working on the new house too. There is still painting to be done, mudroom built ins, fence to be put up, siding to finish, the list is long friends but we see the light we think we got TV today and will watch the news for the first time in almost 3 weeks...not sure if that’s good or bad! So far as we continue to settle in we love the new house and so much of the planning is paying off and showing us how much better this house functions for our family. There are also things we would have changed already if we were doing it over but I think that’s pretty normal.

First time doing dishes with winter weather looking back at me. Ice is strange in a way, it’s so beautiful and fragile yet so destructive at the same time. Other than some little branches our place is fine but nature sure is a strong force. Love my new kitchen and the view...less mud will be cool though, come on green weather!

Just oversharing, it’s what I do. My husband is magical. Just shy of midnight our youngest woke up needing me. I get up, get him taken care of and settled back down, and go pee because my bladder that’s been kicked by 3 kids says I have to before I can lay back down, it’s a requirement not a choice. ... About 15 minutes after I lay back down the parakeets in the hallway start freaking out. Surprisingly my hubby hears them and wakes up. He goes to check and make sure the cat isn’t trying to play huntress with the cage snacks. He goes pee as well because, well because this is 30’s I guess. He lays back down and within 5-7 minutes he’s sleeping!!! Quietly snoring away the night. Magical. Stinking magical creature he is! 2 hours later here I am. I’ve tossed and turned, made mental list after list after list of things I need to do when the sun comes up, before I open, and in between customers. So much to do if we are trying to be sleeping in the new house before Christmas. I’ve prayed, alot. God knows my prayers include a lot of distractions. I’ve counted sheep but that creates a whole other mind game. 1 sheep 2 sheep 3 sheep I wonder if the chickens are cold? I didn’t check the eggs yesterday! I wonder why all the eggs are green? They were supposed to lay rainbow eggs in multiple colors but they were all green last week. I need to start eating healthier. The laundry is so behind, I wonder where that gray top is that hides my belly? What color area rug should I try to find for the living room? Gray like that top? No, I like warmer tones, then again I’ve still picked a lot of gray for the house. Garrett said there’s a mouse in the new house! Ugh I do NOT do mice. Nana loved mice, miss her so much. We need to bake cookies soon, maybe in the new kitchen but oh my gosh I do not have time to be baking cookies, what am I thinking? I need to shave my legs. I have got to make an eye appointment, my glasses prescription is so old now. Crap, I still havn’t ordered Christmas cards, shit, shit, shit. I need it use better language, meh it’s just shit and really it’s my favorite cuss word. Oh yeah, I bought that graphic tee that says shit on it, I should wear that tomorrow with a cardigan. I’m so sad I snagged that one cardigan. Man those popcorn cardigans have been out of stock for my store in all the good colors for so long. Customers wanted more of them too, I hate when I don’t have things they want. I wish I had more of that caramel apple cheesecake Freddie’s sister made, so good. I forgot to lotion my face at bedtime, dang it. This is why I have all those lines around my eyes when I smile now, must moisturize! Tomorrow is the day!

House followers enjoy some before and afters ...Our countertop company moved us up on their schedule. So this happened today while they are not what I’ve been envisioning throughout his project, they are pretty and I think they will grow on me with time. They are beautiful just much more gray than the originals we picked. I’m a person that struggles a lot when big things don’t go as planned. I can roll with the punches on little things since things never go as planned with kids and animals and I have multiples of both lol. Big things are hard for me to just accept change It’s not my favorite trait but it’s me. We still have plenty of finishing to do, and it’s so tedious but we are getting closer. Christmas needs to be just a little further away for us to get this house done in time.

Your overshare from Mem’s Yesterday was Monday. Just in case you didn’t know, it was definitely Monday. Our fridge and dishwasher were set to be delivered, yay! Of course they sent the delivery guys with a regular box truck with no lift. The plan was for them to slide the fridge off the back of the truck using the dolly it was attached to...so half way through its slide it dropped! Yes our new fridge was dropped off a truck in front of us we got the bottom door put ba...ck on as it came off in the process but after further inspection the drawers weren’t setting right, gaps between doors and drawers were no even and adjusting them wasn’t helping, it was done for. In the process of them trying to get it back to the second truck they brought with a lift to take it back one of the delivery guys fell backwards leaving himself halfway under the dolly with the fridge on top of him. I helped the other guy push the fridge over and off of him, he was fine, hobbled for a bit and cussed but then started walking normal and hopped in the truck you can’t make this stuff up! We are supposed to be getting a replacement in perfect condition today Then there is our marble countertops we’ve been waiting patiently to see new options of after our original slabs were sold to someone else. Communication has been an issue, expecting lots of pics of all the options last week and heard nothing. We thought they were shipping in some to see Tuesday but glad we called because they came Friday! We could’ve been much less patiently waiting all weekend and already knew if we liked them we are pretty stuck in this situation because saying no means we push ourselves further out and we could not like the next 5 slabs they get in (although I was hoping to see more options than one) so there isn’t a lot we can do. I do like them, don’t love them for the vision I had but hoping maybe I can love them in the house. *none of this is posted to bad mouth any businesses hence the business names not being mentioned. Just sharing to share, sharing to vent, hopefully sharing to laugh at later!

If you’re a new follower please know that I overshare a lot, you’ve been warned. Some of my customers call it being relatable, others probably just scroll on! Our first real Christmas tree and first ever Christmas tree in the new house! Of course it came with a story lol... Upon deciding to do a real tree this year instead of our artificial we thought it would be cool to cut our own down. As luck would have it we have acreage so it’s simple, just go for a walk and find the p...erfect tree and voila! Haha! I dressed the kids for some Christmas pics with the perfect tree and we started our hike. We found Charlie browns, full side/naked side, full and lush but 15’ tall and 12’ around, etc. Our property has some steep hills, thick brush, thorny bushes, and after over an hour of searching for the tree we decided that the ones in the little pen in the Walmart parking lot sounded pretty appealing. So we went and picked out the tree lol. It’s beautiful and it does smell good but I must say I appreciate our artificial tree just a little more than before after trying to decorate this pretty tree. No one ever said that any ornament that weighs more than butterfly would melt the branches we ended up breaking two ornaments in the process, one from 2011 that has survived every year until now. Those branches just aren’t strong like I expected also don’t let the Christmas tree in the new house pics fool you, we are still very much in construction mode but hoping to be sleeping there by Christmas so we decided the tree should go there. Earlier this week with only 48 hrs left until deadline I decided that I should enter the Camdenton Chamber of Commerce Gingerbread house competition after talking myself out of doing it for the two weeks prior, knowing I’m far too busy to add more to my plate, etc. Well after a countertop heartbreak (they sold the slabs we had reserved and the ones they replaced them with were not at all what we wanted ) I needed something not house or work related. I pictured myself sippin...g hot cocoa, listening to Christmas music and decorating my little gingerbread cottage in the woods as I had envisioned it. Of course my kids wanted to do them too so we went to the store after work for supplies and hurried home to start our relaxing project yeah right! We got home, got the kids houses ready to decorate and someone needed help every two seconds, crying I can’t make it look like insert siblings name, I hear half a container of sprinkles hit the floor after cascading off the island, my husband rolls in a cooler of deer to start processing because men have impeccable timing. I finally got to really start working on mine when I put the kids to bed so I was up til 10 trying to save what had already been deemed a Pinterest fail. When I put on my ice sprinkles it caused my colors to run, my wreath was melting down the front of the house, it was not going like I had planned. At this point I paid to enter, paid for supplies, and was all around invested enough I knew I had to finish. I dropped it off at the chamber Thursday morning and today it’s on display at Christmas on the Square for voting, wish me luck this whole project was not my best last minute idea.
