Dear MCR-II Parent: As you may know, it is very important to fill out the free and reduced meal application for the Montgomery County R-II School annually. We have been fortunate during the 2020-2021 school year to offer all of our students free meals. However, during the 2021-2022 school year, free meals will not be provided by the Department of Heath and Senior Services (provider our district uses for meal reimbursement). With that, an application and qualification will ...be required. This means that if your family has had a free or reduced status in the past, you be required to fill a new application (this is done annually). Typically, the first 30 days of the school year are covered by the previous school year's application for free and reduced meals. If you DID NOT fill out an application during the 2020-21 school year, payment will begin on the first day of school, August 24, unless you fill out an application (2020-21) now and qualify. Applications can be found in each building office. Thanks, Tracy Bottoms, Superintendent
Congrats to Izzy Freymuth!!! Izzy Freymuth was named Area V FFA President! She will be presiding over the Area 5 which consists of 16 schools. This is our first area officer in 7 years.
Thanks to all our our teachers and staff for all they do for our students. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!!
HS graduation will be held outside on the football field at 7:30 P.M on June 4th (with no limitations). However, if graduation can not be held outside, due to weather, it will be at the same time and date in the HS gym. If graduation is inside, each senior will only have 6 tickets for their family. A decision will be made by noon on June 3.
Congratulations to our fith grade teacher Mrs. Fitzgerald. She was nominated and awarded the KRCG Educator Excellence award. Check out KRCG 13 News at 5pm today for her interview.

Due to the current situation Van Far High School will have ticket requirements for entry tonight at the Varsity football game. They provided 150 total tickets to Montgomery County which breaks down to approximately 2 per player/cheerleader. The coaches are responsible for dispersing to their players and cheerleaders. Each player/cheerleaders will be provided 2 tickets to disperse to whomever they would like. If your student has tickets and will not need them you are more tha...n welcome to share with others. A ticket along with Admission will be required to enter tonights game. Montgomery County spectators will be assigned seating behind the Montgomery County sideline. Seating is limited so we strongly encourage fans to bring their own chairs. Non school age students with their parents will be admitted without a ticket. Individuals can also listen to the game on 103.9.
As previously mentioned, the MCR-II School District continues to work through some technology issues. It appears that some of our phones may also have issues. If a parent has left a voicemail for a staff member, and you have not received a return call, you might call that building office to leave also leave a message for that staff member. We hope to have all technology issues resolved in the near future.
Middle parents, please check your emails for a letter from the Superintendent.

Dear MCR-II Parents, last week information was sent out about free breakfast and lunch for all of our students. Today, the district also learned that students are eligible for a second free meal as well. Again, this meal must be a complete reimbursable meal.
Dear MCR-II Parents, the MCR-II School District has been working with state agencies so all our students could have free breakfasts and lunches. Today (9/10/20), our district was notified that all MCR-II students who are currently enrolled in seat, will not have to pay for any breakfast or lunch, through December 22, 2020. Both of these meals must be a totally reimbursable meal, meaning that it must meet the USDA requirement of an entrée, fruit, vegetable, and milk. If yo...ur student chooses only an ala-carte item, or just a milk, their account will be charged for those items. The Department of Health and Senior Services (agency overseeing this food service program) is allowing districts to back date the start of this program to September 1. This means that student meal accounts will not show a charge from September 1 through December 22. However, families will still be required to pay for any meal debt accrued through August 31, 2020.
