THE STORY OF MCKAY ENTERPRISE While living in the mid-west (Kansas City) and working in corporate IT, founder and CEO Jody McKay set his sights on real estate investing in 2005. Before that he had learned contruction, rehab and accounting skills from his family background of labor working Dad and bookkeeping mother. He would work with dad during the summer or on a weekend and learn these skills.. He had bought his first home as a HUD for $25,000. He renovated and lived in ...the home for a few years. He had realized that this homes value had now tripled, so he decided to sell for $94,000 and make a huge profit. During that time he had created McKay Enterprise, LLC and purchased another bank foreclosure and then used that as collateral to purchase another short sale. Those homes became rental homes for off base Military personnel. Jody's mother became a part time Realestate agent and managed the rental properties. He has since then purchased and sold multiple bank foreclosures or vacant properties doing most the rehabs himself or with family. In 2011 he moved to Georgia for his full-time corporate IT job. He decided he wanted to continue this journey but didn’t know where to start in a new town where he didn't know anyone. He joined up with local REIA's and is excited about the network of investors, contractors and associates he has built.
