Posting a few pictures from this last weekend. On Saturday Vivie had Champion Mini Hereford and Nora Kate had Reserve Shorthorn and was Reserve Junior Showman. Sunday didn’t go as good but Vivian and Nora Kate did their own fitting on Pixie the Mini Hereford. They did a great job. Thanks for Aunt Jocelyn and Uncle Eric for coming to watch!

Don’t farm kids have it the best?

Cattleman’s Congress was a success for our family. We want to thank Uncle Donnie McGaugh for raising this good steer and allowing us to show him. We had really looked forward to checking off a bucket list item by showing at the National Western in Denver but are very appreciative of the folks in Oklahoma for putting on an excellent show for the Junior Exhibitors. As always we want to thank everyone else who helped us get there. This was the first Market Steer we had shown as a family since the early 2000’s. There is just something about competing in a good steer show that gets your adrenaline pumping!

Nora Kate’s hard work is paying off. The fourth place in class with her steer Sherlock in Oklahoma City was her major show debut. We are proud of her and her dedication. She has some good prospects in the barn for 2021 and we are looking forward to watching her continue to improve. We still have two steers we are interested in selling. Our hopes were to help some local kids wanting to get a start showing livestock. We are offering our help including hoof trimming, clipping and moral support. These steers are of good quality and would improve anyone’s chances of success at the county fair level for sure and possibly beyond. If anyone knows of a young man or lady interested in getting involved please pass this information on. The county weigh ins are not far off! Thank You from the McGaugh’s!
