How can we sing the Lord's song in a strange land or during these strange times? How can we KEEP from singing? Even in the night, we have a song of great hope. ... We have always been a singing Church. It's what the Church does. Whether in captivity or in chains, whether in famine or distress, whether in times of persecution or freedom the Church responds to the Word and the Word Made Flesh through song. It's the joy of the gospel. Join us in singing it loudly and boldly this semester. Especially as we prepare to serve in ministry to the local church. Despite COVID and the swirling tides of current events in our world, we WILL lift our voices in worship. And we want YOU to join us. So whether you are a new or returning student, a staff member, or a family member (ages 16+), or an ALUMNI,, you are welcome to become a member of Voices of Midwestern--our school's premiere vocal worship team. It's FREE (no fee to register). If you're enrolled, you must register for the class (even if you do not need credit). If you are not a student, you may fill out a commitment form at the first rehearsal. Rehearsals take place each Friday at 9 am in the chapel (not the music building thanks to Covid). The first rehearsal begins on January 22. Music is provided. Bring a pencil, bring a water bottle, don your mask, and bring a friend or two. Let's make this semester's group the biggest and best yet in these uncertain times. Let's allow the word in song to minister to us as we sing and minister to others. How can you keep from singing? For more information, contact Professor Angela C. Swain ([email protected]). Or visit www.mbts.edu/worship and scroll down to read more about our team See you on the 22nd!

Merry Christmas from Voices of Midwestern! "Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming" is considered a "Twelfth Night" carol used during the 15th century and was originally sung in German. Here, VOM shows diversity in choral presentation through this difficult a capella piece during the 2019 "Midwestern Family Christmas" concert. www.mbts.edu/worship
