Somebody left a small load of laundry in Washer #10 (by the sink). We didn't want it to sour, so we moved it to Dryer #7 (ole lucky #7). Everything should be dry and waiting for you in the morning!

Ever spritz your carpet 10 times when the directions say to stop at two or three? Or if one teaspoon is all you need in the cleaning solution, you put two? "This actually works against us, especially in the laundry," says green-cleaning coach Leslie Reichert, author of The Joy of Green Cleaning. "Instead of getting rid of smells, it can just make your laundry smell worse." Stick to the amount in the instructions. I copied that from AOL, today. Jan "How's that?!" you ask...? 1. When you use more than the recommended amount of soap, it causes over-sudsing. That means there are unnecessary bubbles that simply cause a cushion in the washer. That cushion keeps the clothes from really rubbing together, and that means the cleaning power (removal of stains and smells) of the tumbling clothes is gone or lessened. A load of clothes gets a good washing, when they scrub themselves against each other. 2. If you use more soap than the manufacturer recommends, you risk having soap left in your clothes, even after the final rinse. The machine is just that; a machine. It doesn't think. It is programmed to use a certain amount of water based upon the settings you choose. If you use extra soap, it can be left in your clothes, and that residue can pick up extra dirt, hold on to airborne pollen, make your eyes water, give you a rash, and make you itch especially in moist places like socks and underclothes. Do yourself a favor, and measure your soap, and each time you do laundry, cut it back a tiny bit more until you find the least amount that is necessary to do a good job. You will be surprised by how little it takes, and you can cut you detergent bill down to about half! Jan
