It is after much prayer and research that I am announcing that I will be taking a 6-month break from my business effective immediately. Covid has affected us all differently over the past year. Information changes so frequently regarding the severity of transmission, side effects, long term issues, etc. that it’s hard to keep up to date on the latest protocols. My main concern is for your safety and mine. Blood clots are a contraindication for massage. That means that I am ...not supposed to massage you if you have a history or risk of blood clots. Massage can dislodge a clot, release it into the bloodstream and cause a heart attack or stroke. Recent studies have shown the increased potential for blood clots in those who had Covid-19. Also, all 4 manufacturers of the vaccines have reported blood clotting issues. Since this is all so new and the wide-ranging effects are still unknown, I am not comfortable taking that risk. Also, there is emerging evidence that vaccinated people could be transmitting spike proteins to unvaccinated people through physical contact/bodily fluids. As of now, I have decided not to get the vaccination. This played a big factor in my decision as well. That is why I am taking a 6-month break. I want to see what the future brings as all of this is brand new. It breaks my heart to do this. I became a massage therapist to help people, but with the information currently available, the risk is too high. I work with other amazing therapists and would recommend them so that you can continue with the progress you’ve worked hard to obtain. If you’ve got an appointment scheduled, I will be contacting you to cancel your appointment. If you have purchased a gift certificate or massage package, I will refund any unused portion to you.
