Happy International Firefighter's Day! This day was started after a tragedy that sparked an email campaign in 1999 to honor the brave women and men who respond to emergencies. It is also a day to celebrate those who lost their lives in the line of duty!

The latest statistics show that cooking is the #1 cause of residential fires. Recently we have had fires where cooking was the cause. Please take a moment to review the video so that your family is aware of the dangers of an activity that many do without thinking about. One point this video doesn't show is the awareness of cooking and then falling asleep. Be aware when you cook and this includes staying awake and aware as you do. We love to cook as much as anyone so cook safely! Don't make your meal the talk of the area when smoke detectors sound- use a dinner bell to call your family to the table!

Avoid I-270 Southbound South of Mckelvey. Vehicle accident, rollover. One victim extricated and transported to an area hospital.

Crews trained with ice rescue suits, rigging, and techniques. When enough ice forms, crews will go out to the lake for scenarios with rescue mannequins.

Our Firefighter/Paramedics helped the St. Louis Labor Council with a food drive at their Maryland Heights location over the past couple days and had a great turnout!! Thanks to everyone who dropped off food items!

Santa Parade route for Friday Dec 18th. The parade will start at 5pm and the following maps will show the streets the parade will be traveling. Please remember with all the COVID restrictions that Santa will not be stopping to visit this year but we will be going to all the subdivisions that we have in previous years. Food Drive starting tomorrow.

Maryland Heights, Monarch, Creve Coeur, and West Overland firefighters quickly got control of an apartment fire. Apartments were searched assuring everyone had successfully evacuated. A cat on the fire floor was rescued and revived at the scene by firefighters.
