Units 156 from Louisiana (Cub Scout Pack and Scout BSA Troop) participated in Community Clean-Up Louisiana this morning. Together they picked up two huge and heavy bags of trash full of glass bottles and construction debris. We were happy to help our community through Trash the Trash and Messengers of Peace BSA. #doingourpart #trashthetrash #ScoutOn

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Bill Deuel (1938-2021) today. Bill had been a registered member in Scouting for 70 years, he was an Eagle ...Scout, past camp staff member at Camp Pa He Tsi, District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver recipient. Over the years Bill served many district and council positions most notably Assistant Council Commissioner and Chief Campmaster. Despite recent challenges with Bill’s health he remained engaged in Scouting. He was presented with the Presidents Award this past fall for his many years of service to the council. I am truly grateful and honored to have worked along side Bill over the years. Join me in a prayer for Bill, Frances and the entire Deuel family. We will share details on the visitation and funeral once available. John Fabsits Scout Executive

The next time you are at the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, check out the new Special-Use Area, developed by longtime Scout volunteers John & Mary Ann Young and... troops from the Great Rivers Council! The special-use area offers primitive camping to not-for-profit youth organizations. Three group campsites are available and can accommodate up to 30 campers per site. The area has a vault restroom and each campsite has a fire ring, picnic tables, lantern post and open space for tents. Read the full release here: https://dnr.mo.gov//u/eb84a5cb-ae9d-4b41-a794-d33f9177ea4a "During 2020 and 2021, Great Rivers Council troops completed projects to prepare the park’s special-use area for opening. Projects included construction of food preparation stations, the council ring, picnic tables and bench seating, and installation of campsite fire rings. Since 2013, Great Rivers Council Scouts have volunteered more than 3,500 hours of service to improve Lake of the Ozarks State Park."
