New Website Alert Our new client website Shears N' Foils just launched which means it's the perfect time to discuss the anatomy of a homepage So... you've jumped through all the hurdles of deciding where to host & which platform is right for you. Now the fun begins-- the home page! ... This is the very first thing clients will see when the site loads so you want it to be a great first impression. Not only that you want to take them down different rabbit holes or "funnels" to get them to take a peek around & stay a while! Your home page should be all about what resonates with your target market. All about them, not you. The more they click, the more you've got their attention! Your home page should be a window into all your other pages on your site. You must include all the things! About us, solutions, products, processes and anything else that’s fitting to your business. Think of the worst case senecio - if a potential client came to your home page and that was the only page they saw, they would know all the basics of everything they need to know about you. Let's talk MUST-HAVES for the perfect home page: Call to Actions - Get them to take action on your site! This could be signing up for your newsletter, a booking feature, signing up for a consultation or an first date call, or all of the above! Whatever it is you offer it should be there, and it should be pretty! Links to each page of your site This is important--Make sure all the CTA's lead somewhere! You have to spell it out for people. Let them know what you want them to do. Multiple pain points - AKA their problems & how YOU solve them. Obviously they know they have an issue because they are dealing you out. How can you prove yourself to be the master in your field? A cohesive Branding that is clear & pleasant to look at! You’re going to turn people away if you are not cohesive in your message, look and feel. Like we always say, we are in the business of building brands that turn heads! Having a cohesive brand is where this all starts on your home page and beyond!! What are you working on adding to your homepage? Let me know!!

Here at MB Creative, I am the secret weapon behind branding, web design & social media management but what you may not know is that I also have a small team of magicians behind me who help me get the job done! I am a people person & I always have been able to connect with people easily -- that is part of the reason I was drawn to social media management! I love to connect. That is also why I pride myself in being a great team manager! Here are some of my tips for m...anaging your team to set your business up for success: 1. Stay organized & Overplan - Have a management system that works & keep communicating during projects. This is key to optimal workflow, especially when in a team environment! When in doubt - over plan! 2. Expectations - Make sure roles are clearly defined & expectations are explained. This will help avoid confusion. 3. Motivation - As a team leader, it is my job to motivate my team and offer encouragement! I love being a positive force in my team's life & letting them know they can do anything they set their minds to! I want them to succeed & will help them if they need me. 4. Be open to change - If something is not working, make sure your team feels comfortable talking to you about it. It is important you make yourself approachable & friendly as the manager! All of these tips are backed by psychology & research -- will you implement them in your business? See more

This is how I react when a client tells me about their successes. And it is promptly followed by a two minute long happy dance. I love hearing about my client's success stories. It is everything to me!

This morning, I had a slow morning. I actually cooked breakfast. I didn’t rush too much getting ready. I cleaned my kitchen. All before talking to one client. It was awesome and I’ve deciding I’m going to do it more often! I struggle with resting or doing things for myself. My to do lest is always looming! Can anyone else relate? ... We all need a little reminder now and again. Repeat after me. It's okay to rest. As business owners, we some times have the line blurred between work and rest. It's important to have both. What is your favorite way to rest?

You brand can be carried through out every single piece of your business. Even something as small as a business card. Anything a potential client sees should represent you and your business. It should be easily recognizable! What are some small ways you make sure your brand is recognizable in everything?

I am sure there is going to be a million of these posts out there on the internet but I just want to give my take on 2020. It was the most awful, most amazing year of my life. I learned so many damn lessons that I needed to. I grew as a person. I grew as a friend and wife. I changed. I learned what is really important in this short life. I started my business FULL FREAKING TIME and am doing what I've always wished I could be doing. For that and all the other things I am thankful. It wasn't easy but we made it through. I am excited and also nervous as ever to see what 2021 has in store. Cheers to you 2020, see ya on the flip side.

I ALWAYS say " I am a makeup artist who went rogue." And it's the truth! I did not plan to open a Creative Agency... It just kind of happened. That's what happens with creatives. We let our creativity flow and lead us into what inspires us. It can be annoying at times but also incredible. If I never would have listened to my gut, I never would have started this business and went all in on myself. . . . #brandingdesign #visualidentity #branddesign #brandingstrategy #modernlo...go #brandinginspiration #graphicdesignerlife #ceoofme #creativeladydirectory #bossladies #freelancewisdom #peopleslovecollective #womenempowerment #makersandthinkers #createcultivatecommunity #calledtobecreatives #mycreativebusiness #creativepreneur #creativeentrepreneur #createyourhappy #alliseeispretty #creativeprocess #pursuewhatislovely #createcultivate #brightcolors #designattractor #logoinspire#AestheticAlliance #marisaburgett #mbcreative See more

1. Did you know that hashtags were actually not active in the US for a while? But they are back baby! Can’t wait to keep using them! I love this jump in engagement!!! 2. Instagram and Facebook punish you if you use the exact same hashtags on every single post. They will punish you by not showing your posts to as many people. Make sure you are changing it up often. I like to have 8 different sets of hashtags ready to go. Let me know if you need help finding yours!... 3. Videos are preforming the best right now on Instagram. Especially reels. Let me know if you want a lesson in how to create them! Literally anything can be a reel and you can make it super simple. My friend Billie has the best reels right now! She's a master. I try to post at least one per week. 4. When posting on stories, try to post at least 10 slides per day. Take a break on Saturday if you are able. This actually resets your account with Instagram. Be sure you are using hashtags on your stories too! I like to hide them behind stickers and polls. 5. Post polls and other engaging things on Instagram stories often. Your followers like to give their opinion and this will help manifest a natural connection with them. Instagram is always looking at how often your followers are engaging with your account. This will move you up in the Instagram kingdom. 6. Remember to do a Call To Action on every post or story. Let people know what you want them to do. Its okay to ask for a DM, like, website visit, swipe to see the next picture, or share your post. Often people forget to do these things without being asked! 7. Remember the 80/20 rule. Serve your followers 80% of the time. Ask for something in return 20% of the time. Give give give & then ask for something. See more

LOL. Does anyone else feel like this? I just want to finish ONE THING on my never ending to do list. I get so distracted by new projects because of all the creative possibilities that some times I forget to finish up my other awesome projects. Not on purpose of course. This is just how creatives are! I go with where my creative juices flow. That's where my organization skills come in. I batch schedule my tasks. All content creation for me and my clients ha...ppen on the same day. All branding activities such as logo creative, deliverable packages, and other design things are dedicated to a specific day. All client communication (zoom calls) is reserved for one day per week. They can still reach me by email or message any time they need to! I do this because it works. Because creatives need to get into a specific headspace for creating. It's not easy to stop and start a project like that. How do you keep yourself on task? See more
