However, upon further review of their forecast these increases are primarily for SW Missouri and NE Oklahoma areas. Our area, per the NWS, has a "Slight" chance of this type of weather. NWS Springfield is requesting damage assessments and losses from the February storms. The amounts could lead to disaster assistance for our area. If you have any to report please email our County Emergency Management Director, Scott John, at [email protected]. Please be specific about the loss fixing details such as damaged trees, home, barns, loss of livestock, etc. also include any dollar amounts associated with the loss. ... Thank you Scott John, EMD

Latest projections from NWS Springfield has the highest risk of severe weather in southern Missouri. Our area is in the area deemed "slight risk" of severe weather and flash flooding. Even though we are not in the projected area of the severe weather you should remain alert to changing weather patterns. This would also be a good time to ensure your home and workplace are prepared for severe weather as we enter the season.

With the forecast of rain the next two days and waterways already full we have an increased risk of flooding with potential flash flooding over the next 48 hours. Please pay attention to the weather and DO NOT cross flooded roadways.
